| I thought the (Wire) game was run by Gidley, without his organisational skills and kicking we would have been dreadful. Since Gidley took all the goal kicks and Dagger the kick offs I can only assume that Patton is still carrying a leg injury.
I thought Atkins was excellent again today and Clark off the bench worked well as he made some good runs through a tiring Catalan defence. From the younger kids, Julien was very good making good yards with the ball and a lot of tackles. He backed up Atkins nicely for his try as well. Philbin worked hard, Dagger seems to be settling in nicely and Brad Dwyer showed lots of energy and enthusiasm, particularly tackling. Savelio was elusive in attack, but he never quite makes full use of half breaks by e.g. getting the ball away. I am not totally convinced by him despite a good try at the end. And there were some pretty uninspiring performances from Hughes and Cooper. Penny got negligible service, but his running the ball back was 'not great'. He didn't seem really interested, plus he seemed to head straight towards the largest forwards he could find on the pitch. I am guessing he will be leaving at the end of the year.
Anyway, looks as though we are in the bottom four now with only the actual position to be decided. If we can get Peta Hiku up and running perhaps we can finish 9th.

| Gidley has zero organisational skills. That's part of the reason we look so ordinary. Decent player just not a half back.

You wasn't at the game then or your head was up someone's backside.
AS was a fairly late change. He was a handful with the ball but what you obviously didn't see was his quick play the ball that opened Cats up to get the penultimate try on top of his killer try just after.

Think you got the first 9 and 7 the wrong way around.

He made 2 tackle busts.
107 metres (8.92 avg gain)
Also joint 2nd top tackler with 31.
He attracts plenty of players to him, and they still find it difficult to put him down.

No, 9798 was announced at the ground. Far better attendance than I thought it would be even with kids freebies

Second best tackler and only played 60 mins of rugby. Says about it all and the quality of someone's eyesight.

| He has attacking skills and flair. We have lots of forwards who can take it up to the opposition but very rarely look like making a break. He is just what we need.

| He needs a good halfback to boss him around, imagine if he had Briers telling him exactly where to run

I dont argue that there are plenty more that deserve to be shipped out before him.
I'm just not having Savelio as the next Gordon Tallis that some people are.
he's not standing out as world class player in a team like Paul Sculthorpe did.
he just seems to drift in and out of games and has spells doing nothing out wide.
to be honest I cant see past the fact we are absolutely garbage in the bottom four and and playing the worst rugby ive ever seen.... and I'm finding it very difficult to be enthusiastic over any player on our books.

| CBA seemed to be the order of the day for both teams for most of yesterday's game with no urgency from either side. I don't think i've ever seen scrums & other breaks in play take up so much time.
