You say that, but having Westwood AND Hock in the back row would be a recipe for disaster. Probably two of the best second rowers in the competition, but they both give away too many penalties and can be hot headed (Westwood slightly less so than Hock).

One of the best in the world, I don't like him as a person, but he's incredible player, he'd fit in perfectly, all his offloads, power, it's all adds up really, smith singing his praises, warm embraces between the pair before and after the game on good Friday, cooper off to the nrl...perfect way for hock to slip in

| So we have one definite to Salford, one definite to Parramatta and one maybe to Warrington. We can't ALL be right and I'm not sure which horse to back....and that my friends is why I'm an atheist (and I don't gamble).

I heard it was Mossop, on the bottom of that Cooper NRL article.

| I do find it kind of unlikely that Parramatta could sign both.
There is still a salary cap to stay within. Hayne and Sandow take up a large chunk of it. Willie Tonga isn't cheap, and they have Will Hopoate coming in next year on (supposedly) $800,000, as well as Corey Norman from the Broncos, and reportedly Josh Papalii from the Raiders.

The salary cap is allegedly increasing by another $500k next year.
Looking at Parra's squad, I only see Hayne and Sandow as top dollar earners.
Beneath them, arguably, Mannah, Moi Moi and Tonga. Then Matua, Roberts and Larsick. After that, well, not that great.
I really can't see Hopoate commanding that kind of money, he is still pretty raw, even though he does look like he will be a fine player.
Papalli has reneged on his deal to Parra.
I think Parra have got plenty of scope on the cap.

| Considering Tony Smith enthuses that it is the 'person' that is more important than the 'player' I really can't see how a person who had to change his name whilst younger due to the all the trouble he was in and then has gone on to be banned for drug taking would fit in with our alleged club ethos.
I for one would be pretty disgusted if he came to the club.

| I thought Gareth Hock was a reformed character following his ban. Didn't he spend the two years of his ban saving kittens from trees and helping old-ladies cross the road. That seemed to be the gist of it at the time his ban was ending and the "return of the prodigal son" extravaganza that Wigan publicised his return against Huddersfield as.

| I've not seen anything to change my view that he's a liability, a penalty machine, a disruptive influence and a loose cannon. I wouldn't want him in the same town as Ben Currie let alone the same team.
Anyone who cites the good friday game against us can reflect that he was coming back from a ban - again. He's damaged goods and every opportunity the RFL get to make an example of him, they will.
As for his playing ability, lets see how we goes in the world cup when he gets targeted and is up against some real enforcers ............ assuming he's not banned, sulking, gone AWOL or bottled it.

This.
Anyone who advocates that we should try and sign him up is a simpleton, or at best misguided.

| Typical rugby league fans they all crucify Gaz Hock but they'd all have him in their team, also he had his name changed because the other siblings in his family had the surname Hock.
