| It shows how important Tomkins is 18-0 up when he goes off. Talking about kicking games, it's a shame that Lee Briers opted for Wales.

I'd have taken Briers. Or Brough tbh, we lack their style of play.

I think Brown deserves to be there but him and Tomkins will never work. Both out and out 6's.

Do we really need another prop though? IMO McNamara should have just admitted he made a mistake and used Morleys injury as an opportunity to bring a decent half in to make up for it instead of bringing someone in who's been injured most of the season and not in form AFAIK? Desperate times call for desperate measures and a half who can control a game and just settle things down i.e. Burrow, Matty Smith or yes even Deacon could have saved us a little bit of embarassment, instead we are stuck with Kevin Brown who is prone to massive brain farts, which should be great against the Aussies

| If only McNamara had picked the right team.
I thought we had a real chance of beating the Aussies this time with all the great players we have but McNamara just isn't picking them, its like Tony Smith and Brian Noble and David Waite

| Had McNamara decided to call up a HB once Morley went home he may as called called the existing HB/SO squad members into a room and treated them to the following presentation:
'Your ability - why you have got none and why I have no faith in you'.
I'm pleased for Carvell, what an honour although selfishly concerned for us. We've already lost one key prop for the pre-season because of this exercise in futility, we can ill afford another one. Good opportunity for Mike Cooper though.

On the strength of one warm up game though he's not going to 'admit he made a mistake'. He picked the squad because he thought it was the right one, I'm betting he probably still does.

Well he picked what he thought was the best with what was available to him. Seems Steve Macnamara is not what they call a lucky coach - with the woes of the Bulls & now England you wonder what he's done, run over a black cat or something?

| I'm suprised he's gone with Carvell on current form, i'd have chosen Paul Wood, Andy Lynch, Louis McCarthy Scarsbrook and Andy Coley ahead of him.
I wish him well and hope he can recapture his old form.

| I think our play this year has always picked up when Wood has come on for Carvell.
Also thinking how good it would have been to have seen Briers have a crack at the Aussies again. Although might well get another chance with Wales if they can beat France.
