Absolute garbage we don't have the players to just up their game and win finals the previous x amount of finals proves that.
If the players think only semi finals count get rid of them no place for them at a club with aspersions of winning titles

You’re spouting BS yourself. Enough of your fans are crowing over the vast chasm of points between you and us, 2nd means nothing along those lines of thinking, we’re just as close to the bottom as the top of the league, blah blah blah.
If we were chasing you on points difference, I’d agree, it’s BS, but we all know you’re miles ahead, deserve to win everything, and are the greatest rl side since the game was invented. Yawn.

Ha, this. If the deluded duck thinks that our puddings will compete with Walmsley, Thompson, Amor, Peyroux and that g0be LMS then he is truly off his rocker.
We tried earlier this summer and were well and truly gassed after an hour. Now factor in our current form, injuries and so forth, we don’t have a chance of ‘laying a platform’. If we let Wigan stick a few quick tries on us last week I genuinely fear what saints will do to us once our energy is sapped from the big Wembley pitch.

So you're bigger underdogs than say Hull KR v Leeds 2015? Catalans v Saints 2007? Hudds v Saints 2006? London v Leeds 1999? Sheffield v Wigan 1998? And that's only the last 20 years.
It's absolute nonsense - you will have internationals like Ratchford, Charnley, Hill, Clark, Cooper on the pitch. Big NRL signings like Goodwin. England Knights players like Jack Hughes and Ben Currie. Players poached from other SL clubs for their performances like Mamo and Lineham. Damaging runners in the pack like BMM and Philbin.
Yet you're the biggest underdogs in Challenge Cup history? Give over.
Are we favourites, of course. Is it the most one-sided match ever played at Wembley in prospect? As I said, complete BS.

| Don't want to agree with a Saints fan but he's right - we aren't huge underdogs at all and Price knows it. On current form it's a clear Saints victory but if you judge on the route to Wembley then ours has been much tougher than Saints'. I don't fancy us at all but it's no Wigan V Sheffield and we've got a sniff.

| Saints are 2/5 on with most bookies, and I think that's very generous given our form etc.

| We shouldn't be underdogs but we are! We're terrible. I've never felt so low going in to a wire match and it's a final!

And you may ask yourself
Am I right? Am I wrong?
And you may say yourself
"My God! What have I done?"

| Start of the season our forwards were running hard and direct lines either side of the ruck. Hill and cooper were hitting Austin or Patton with a ball out the back of a lead runner in from our back rowers. WHERE HAS ALL THAT GONE?!? All we do now is play one up rugby and boot the ball aimlessly on the 5th.
Utter shambolic. We got away with a slump and not playing too well around the 2nd quarter of the season and managed to get away with it but as the season has gone on and other teams have found their way, we have stayed the same.
We've completely gone away from what was winning us games. Loosing Ratch for 9 games made us look worse than we would have but to anyone who actually watches rugby (Not these do-gooder "won't hear a bad word said about the club or the players" types). I mean anyone who's played the game. Understands what is required to win, what a winning team plays like, we've been $h1t£ for ages and saved further embarrassment because the standard of SL is p1$$ poor and because of individual brilliance from certain players in certain games.
Yes, we've got great players in individual roles... But we don't have a team. Not in a month of Sunday's

Underdogs or not, seems like Pricey doesn’t even back his own side to win it. Which doesn’t send out a great message does it? Sounds like he’s defeated already Price.
‘We are the biggest underdogs in Challenge Cup History’
Or something along lines...doesn’t sit well me these type of comments. It’s the type of comments you expect from a pundit or an extra wire player not your head coach.

I wouldnt't read too much into what a coach says in these circumstances. He's trying to put pressure on the opposition and relieve his team of it.

Mind games or not, I’m not really impressed with this type of spiel. Like the majority of his post match interviews recently.

For those of us who have watched the last ten games, yes, it bloody well feels that way.
Can’t you go back to Redvee and enjoy the mutual cockiness and assured victory?

There's a direct correlation between the popularity of a coach's post-match comments and the results.
When you lose every week, whatever the coach says, will antagonise the fans. The coach has to say something though so is always on to a loser.
Nobody would have minded if Tony Smith said "we trained well all week", if we were winning.
It gets exacerbated when you have a coach who likes to talk a lot, eg Paul Cullen or Brendon Rodgers / Roberto Martinez in football. When they were having good seasons they had the press hanging off everything they said, seeing their words as the insights of genius. When results turned, their tendency to chat a lot made them easy caricatures.
