| Quote: the flying biscuit "As I mentioned on a previous post I found the Game against Leigh most enjoyable... some positive signs indeed.
If Matty Russell finds his way into this team I will be back at DEFCON 1 with my negativity towards the club.
it would show a massive bias to certain favourites of the coaching staff.
He was in awful form before his injury. granted he will have been training well as is the norm with all players this season.!! but he hasnt been chomping at the bit in reserve grade or out on loan at Rochdale.
he has absolutely no place in that team at this present time. he needs to do a Kevin penny and sit patiently and wait for his opportunity.
so if on Thursday Hiku goes to full back and Ratchford joins Gidley in the halves and Patton gets dropped and Russell goes out on the wing ...I'll be done absolutely done.....
until them i'm in a happy(ish) place.....
If he spent half the time on the training pitch as he does in the bookies you would probably see a different player.

Whose wing does he face I don't think he will have such an easy game v hiku and pomeroy.
He has been the one young player this year who I have seen n wished we had him on our wing wane has basically said when fit burgess starts so they have four wingers fighting for one spot dowe make a cheeky offer on Marshall? tho I think maybe tierny will be the one to go but he has recently signed a 3/4 year contract with them so it's a weird one I'm sure they could do with his wages spent elsewhere as Marshall n the other young guy whose name I can never remember seem more than capable of stepping in if needed.
We need a winger n. The pies have 4/5 wingers who would get in most teams and must be wanting first team action soon ???

| Didn't Marshall recently sign a 5 year deal at Wigan? I'm not sure how long Manfredi is under contract but he's one I'd be after too.

| Manfredi family originally from Italy resided in Warrington many years ago...I'm guessing he'd have come from that family.

| Same subject, slightly different players.
Brown and Russell. Where do they now fit?

Same place they were the past few weeks. Westerman would come back in if fit but neither Brown, nor Russel deserve a spot never mind walking back in to the team. It should take an injury for them to get a shout.

Brown's time may come next year, but him and Gidley are pedestrian and I like Patton in the team.
Russell needs to convince he can do better than lineman as for now, Pomeroy and Hiku have a good understanding. Easy to understand considering they practically came in together.

| Wouldn't surprise me to see Gidley missing next week. A game v Widnes is probably the best possible game to bring him back for to be honest.
I'm not as anti Russell as most, but he doesn't deserve a spot ahead of Lineham (liked his effort to haul in Marshall) or Hiku / Pomeroy who look solid in defence and after 50 mins together produced the best bit of centre/winger play I've seen from a wire team all year.

| If hudds win tomorrow we can rest gidley and give brown a run out, without too much to lose, if it's a must win game gidley must play over brown and Patton deserves to keep his place the two have played well last few games and I don't see a reason to make a change possibly brown for smith with gidly moving to hooker whilst clarks rested
Russell cannot get back in the team as he is nowhere near lineham and we've looked far better defensively with pomeroy in the team, from the limited times seen him play if there's no winger we want that's available would he be worth an extra year allowing us time and possibly cap space to find our next long term winger.

| Brown and Russell stay out unless there are injuries, we must keep Patton in the team, this end of season run regardless of the Super or Middles is his time to stamp his mark on the position and step up ready for next season. Equally he could blow up and we all join the lynch mob and chase him down. I really hope he cuts it though.

| If we are to buy a halfback for next year, he needs rest of season to prove he deserves to stay in the team. If he can't it may be best for him to move on as I'm sure he wouldn't want another year as a bit part player..
