If you don't agree with my post, that's fair enough. However, this is my opinion and I am fully entitled to it. Would you have been like this if the same poster was trolling on the forum if Warrington had lost the game?

Funny that you can supposedly pinpoint that my post contains immaturity, considering this forum is jam packed full of it.

If you want to backslap the Wigan fans, that is up to you, but I've seen enough posts from Wigan fans in the past to make me back my original post 100%.

i cant disagree that this forum is full of immaturity but we finally come across a good mature topic and then you bring it down to the level we normally see, this reply is decent mate, i got you wrong, i thought you were one of the regular idiot posters and i apologise but maybe you should have left the immature comment to somebody else.

I dont see how he was trolling by congratulating us, i think most of the 50-50 decisions went our way and the ref made some bad errors for both sides, ball steals etc and if it was the other way round id be miffed.

Yes i am backslapping the several wigan fans that have congratulated us on our deserved victory, why shouldn't i praise praise people for rising above the adolescence usually witnessed on this forum. if you are fed up with negative posts from other fans, why not rise above it and revel in the best start to a season we have had for 31 years?

Quote: thenewguy "To the original poster....no offence here but you can take your compliments and shove them up your ****. Don't need your faux praise, thank you very much. I'm sure if you had won the game, you would have been on here trolling to your hearts content. Plus if your praise was fully from the heart, you wouldn't have had to mention so called "questionable decisions".

Wire won fair and square. Fair play to Wigan, they tried their best but were outplayed byt a focused and disciplined Warrington team. I'm sure that both teams will be in the mix at the end of the season, but for now I shall enjoy the victory.'"

I do understand where you are coming from and my reply has been itching at me all night, and it's appreciated you pulling me up about it, but I have my own opinions and if people cannot agree with them, that is something that is outside my control, but I don't strive to be an idiot poster, I just want to talk RL instead of getting involved in pathetic slanging matches. I have apologised to the OP for the way in which I worded my post.

I think you're getting slightly the wrong end of the stick mate, I haven't accused him of trolling, I just said that if we had been on the end of a scoreline like that, I'm sure there would be the possibility of him trolling.

As for Alibert, I thought he had a tremendous game. Was very perplexed by the appointment, but he has proved me wrong.

It's a very good point, and one that I didn't see at the time due to extreme tiredness after a shockingly intensive training course. Oh, and believe me, I am revelling alright. icon_smile.gif

Thoroughly deserved the win. You didn't allow us to build any pressure and the mistakes we made, knock-ons & penalty on the last, cost us dearly. In the post match interview on GMR Morley mentioned Wire getting the 50/50 calls but even without that you deserved the win.

Surprising and good to see people from both sides being so civil about it all considering the build up over the past week or 2.

No complaints from this poster either, you could tell from the off that Wire were more fired up and enthusiastic.

Outplayed us in pretty much every department except knocking on, we were brilliant at that tonight icon_wink.gif

Looks like an interesting season ahead.

Apart from one or two of the usual suspects the build up was quite respectful this time round. Good to see. It will be great if both teams continue in the same vein and eventually have a decider at OT. If that's the case then Rugby League will be the winner.

Officially RLFAN's most Doe-eyed Happy Clapper. Big Steve wrote: The Internet has provided some wonderful creativity, opportunities and knowledge sharing but it has also given a worldwide forum for people you would leave a full pint behind in the pub to avoid having to listen to them. aboveusonlypie... If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg

Reiterating what every other Wigan has said, you lot deserved the win last night. Capitalised on our backs and solid defence. See you at Old Trafford guys!

It is good to see some people from the town of Wigan demonstrating some RL knowledge. I thought those days were dying out which was alarming considering it is a hotbed of the game.

[b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag. [b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg

F off you ffing f.

Not really. Warrington completely dominated the game from start to finish but certainly, what limited mistakes Ailibert did make were in our favour, the strip on the (excellent) Hoffman in particular.

One of Wigan's strengths in attack is the way they create the overlaps out wide but Smith had Wire well drilled in defence and they slid out wide very effectively. Wigan just didn't have the space out wide that they usually create. It was good counter tactics from Wire rather than Wigan playing poorly. Wigan need to develop some alternative attacking strategies. Having won the league last year, other teams are now wisening up to their tactics and preparing well. Hull also did their homework on Wigan and should have won that game.

I think there is no doubt that Wire will be in the mix for both comps this year and Wigan will have to up their game to win anything. I won't be surprised to see these two teams in the GF though. Wigan will learn and improve from last night's performance. This is the first instalment of what will be 3 or possibly 4 interesting contests between the teams this year.
