| Quote: rubber duckie "I’m not saying these are game changing players. However, Bentley is a first choice backrower already, and playing at 13 I think. Isn’t Matty Lees out now long term again, that cuts down Saints mobile backrow forward roll significantly.
With Wigan, Clubb is in the first choice 4 of props for Wigan, wether stating or bench, that leaves them light.
In a season where the best teams are separated by a small margin, small squad depth losses can make greater differences.
I expect to see Saints and Wigan begin loosing games.
I’m going for Hull to over turn their tight defeat to Wigan now. It was the forwards that gained Wigan that win. That’s what a small margin change can do. That UR is how losing Clubb can lose you the CC.'"
If Wigan lose against Hull in the Cup (I hope that they do but won't lose any sleep either way) it won't be due the loss of Clubb. He might be a senior player, but that's it, just an age thing IMO.
Your not twitching fearing the worst when he's warming up, or relieved to see the back of him. In fact and I'd welcome the view of any visiting Wigan fans here, because we only get to see him against us a dozen times a season, but it might be them twitching and relieved.
BTW I think Hull FC are missing a few although probably not as influential as good old Tony

Well if any of our players were found guilty of racism I’d want the club to sack them on the spot.
Hopefully Wigan do the same with Clubb.

| Clubb didn't come back on after his replacement last week, so any perceived weakness is limited. Singleton is their senior prop in my view but the whole group of young kids - Harvard, Partington, Byrne, Bullock (not so young), Smithies - give them a lot of aggression in defence but little go forward. Their forum is full of fans bemoaning the lack of go forward.
St Helens won't miss Bentley that much. Yes, he's good, but they've got people to cover.

100%. No ifs, no buts. If the Disciplinary Panel find him guilty, then bye bye.

| Quote: Winslade's Offload "Inglis is on record as saying he didn't expect or wish to return to FB (" those days are gone"icon_wink.gif, so unless Price insists I guess he will remain at centre. I thought he did OK, better than I was expecting to be honest, and he can only improve with match time. So if Ashton is injured I suppose next weeks options are either Ratchford or Thewliss at FB, and that in turn depends on whether Price brings back Austin. Personally I would like to see Thewliss back, and I am so fed up with Austin I don't really care if he plays for us again.
Lineham's return will presumably leave Mamo without a birth. He has done very well for us over the past few games, but I still see him as a utility back for injury cover, albeit he has taken on the role of a super sub and exploited his speed and energy.'"
I have to agree Charlie that Josh Thewlis should be played at full back for an extended run; he has all the attributes to make the position his own for the next ten years or so that is how highly I rate him having watched him closely for the past three years.

In two out of his first three games he got the Sky MOM award. If that was a Wigan or Saints junior we’d never hear the end of it. I guess it hasn’t helped him that he’s had two very good full backs above him but this is our chamce to settle him into first team action. When Ashton is fit it will be a great problem to have, trying to fit both of them in.

| Our younger players are really missing out not having a Reserve competition so they can play to our structures (rather than a loan team) and feel comfortable slotting in and the Coach isn’t taking such a gamble (I guess).

Totally agree. It is not just the younger players. Any player left out or re-turning from injury needs a run out. It is so difficult to not play for a month or even two years and then spring into action.

| When you loose a fullback and can replace him with Greg Inglis
When you loose a halfback and can replace him with Blake Austin
When you loose a winger and didn’t need replace him with Lineham
Wow wow wow. If this squad can’t win a a double/treble, we never will.

Not like you to get a bit carried away duckie.
It's certainly. A lot more enjoyable to watch at the minute anyway. Widdop seems a lot. More settled and focussed this season, Inglis is going to be good for us, king, Currie, Clark, Charnley, Hill, Cooper and Mamo are all consistently playing well. Young thewlis is first team ready at 18 so there are a lot of positives to take at the minute. We are still a little Conservative for me but the game last night was controlled really well, took a bit of a fluke to get Catalans on the scoreboard, our defence has been terrific on a few occasions this year.

Yeah. I think this is something we will have to accept for the rest of the year though. Price doesn't have to change his style to suit what the board and fans want because he's got nothing to lose, and we are winning.
Hopefully when the sun is out and it's a bit warmer we will open up a bit more like we did on occasions last summer.

The body wears out eventually, but hopefully he can repair and come back for the last few months.
