All these IFs and BUTs. I believe it was stupid not to take the two points just before half time, but to say that that decision ultimately cost us the game is very naive.

Had we taken those two points, then the second half would have played out completely different. But assuming the hyperthetical second half proceeded as the real one did (which I doubt), we would have been 20-18 up and chances are would have played the percentages and kicked into the in goal rather than run for Coopers try. Maybe we would have scored from the kick, or maybe force a dropout, or maybe Scott Donald would have scooped the ball up and ran 100m with it to score.

The only IF that makes the slightest difference was IF Sinfield missed the last kick we would have drawn, as it was he didn't.

Better (but only slightly) team won, yet despite the defeat, and rightly or wrongly, I am far more confident tonight about next week than I was this afternoon.

The look on Smiths face at the end was Priceless. The most overrated coach of the most overrated club. Cant wait for your season to be over next week. For once the whole of the Rugby League family will be hoping for a Wigan win.

I'd much rather see Wire -v- Saints or Wire -v- Hudds than Wigan -v- anyone. So you keep your version of the rugby league family all to yourself!

Too many brain farts in that game. Penalties for a spell in that first half kept them in the game by letting them piggy back up the field.

The Carvell dropped ball was the turning point for me. A stupid mistake by him. We should have completed that set and forced a drop out. It would have been game over.

I can't knock our effort or commitment but we make it too easy for the opposition a lot of the time with poor decisions and errors.

If Smith is going to take us up a level he needs to get us to be more clinical.

We wont beat Wigan next week playing like that.

I would say that Bridge's dropped ball en route to the line was the runing point IMO

As much as I like Mathers and think he had been a Godsend and we deffo got a bargain with that deal. A Wigan fan who I used to work with said to me when we signed him...

"He's a good player, but i'll warn you now, he will lose you games"

I can think of two of the top of my head where brain farts have led to tries in very close games. Think he's an awesome player, but that phrase always sticks with me.

I thought their new stadium was meant to be ready by now.

Hopefully they won't get a franchaise next time round, allowing Widnes back in to Super League. Can't see what they bring to the table, their crowds are abysmal, don't really contribute much in terms of junior development etc.
