| Soliola, that's a straight red tonight. I really wonder what you have to do to get one.

| in recent times there were three red card in this game. Have the rules changed or have we got benefit of doubt on this as well?

Nope, I'm lying!!
I too hope they run through you like a dose of the $hits!

I'm assuming this may be because you don't want to comment on it. IIRC you never seemed to want to comment on the Hansen issue because it had apparently "been done to death". Which is fair enough, but by keeping quiet some people may see that as condoning said actions.
Will be very interesting to see if Hansen does the same to a Wigan player during his Salford tenure, and how the Wigan fans would react if it did happen. I doubt very much they would brush it off as a "legitimate tackle".
Quote: pies-r-us "and when all is said and done no matter which SL team was over there I would be 100% behind em'"
Even Wire or St Helens? I think not. If one of those teams got to the WCC, there is no way on this planet you would support them.
Quote: pies-r-us "and I have truly been surprised at how many so called fans of SL don’t feel the same, this should be one club game when fans rivalry should be put on the back burner.'"
I think part of it boils down to the amount of bile and arrogance spewed out by some of fans after the Grand Final. There was that much of it, that Eugene Victor Tooms would have had a field day.
As for the fan rivalry, it's not the WCC that it happens, England RL suffer with it all the time. Saints/Wire fans booing Wigan players, Wigan/Saints fans booing Wire players, Wigan/Wire fans booing Saints players and everyone else booing Leeds players.
My preference for the WCC is of course the Sydney Roosters; but that is because they have been my NRL team since I've been following the NRL.
Quote: pies-r-us "As for Bowen let’s try to keep things in proportion please.'"
I assume that's another "no comment" when it comes to dangerous play then. I thought you don't condone dangerous play.
You seem to be a pretty level headed Wigan fan from your posts, so fair play to you for that. But I never miss an opportunity to question someone's post if I feel it deserves questioning (if I see these posts, of course). It's what a forum is all about.

You are 100% right about what these boards are all about, discussion and argument, and a bit of biff and bat, but believe me (but I doubt you will though, but nonetheless) EVEN IF IT WAS WIRE, OR SAINTS IN THE WCC, AGAINST OZ, TOO BLOODY RIGHT!

| For me Bowen deserved a ban. That he escaped one because the RFL didn't want to weaken Wigan for the WCC is both transparent as glass and a disgrace. I don't care who Wigan (or anyone) play the following week, player safety should be paramount. Maybe if Bowen had missed the WCC (which he hadn't earned anyway not being part of last year's Wigan team) then maybe he would have thought twice before trying to take someone's head off again this season.
As for the referees and red cards: to be honest I think they are afraid of standing up and making a decision and facing the repercussions should they be considered to have got it wrong. Game outcomes can depend on being an extra man up sometimes and if the ref has done that in error...
It's far easier to put a player on report and hand the decision to the disciplinary, with their slow-mo replays and multiple angles. Especially now report isn't even needed for a referral to the disciplinary. Refs can just dole out a penalty and let the board worry about repercussions for the player.
Maybe if the sin bin could be used for high tackles refs would be more inclined to reach for their pocket. That would give an immediate, on-field benefit to the team sinned against and an immediate, on-field punishment for the sinner. One of my real bug bears about match bans is that more often than not the team wronged doesn't get any benefit, the teams the week(s) after do.

Pmsl Tbh pal I've been a Wigan fan for 32 years and I can tell you straight that what your quoting in our fans is no different than what the majority of your fans have been saying for years now "it's our year this year". It's called passion and belief in your side which nobody should be knocking. In terms of us thinking were the best, well that to me sounds like jealousy on your part. We have been very successful in the past and are over the last couple of years starting to be successful again, let's face it we've had our fair share of Barron years with Bradford, saints and Leeds dominating. You should be questioning your coach as to why you can't get it done in the GF, he's won it at Leeds before so why can't he get it done at wire?. I too don't think well beat the Roosters if I'm honest but we all said that years ago when we went to Brisbane and looked what happend so anything can happen.

| To be honest, with the technology of replays available now, "on report" could be abolished for tv games & instant justice handed out by the video ref ....the game would only be stopped for a few minutes in which time opposing fans could chant & make rude gestures at each other.

So the "it's our year this year" that is the passion and belief being shown by the Wire fans that no-one should be knocking is the same quote that you Wigan fans, and Saints fans, and Widnes fans always jizz over and use as crappy joke material against Warrington and it's fans?
Saying something is passion and belief to which it shouldn't be knocked, yet you lot spend most of the season knocking it? I can't decide whether that's more ironic or hypocritical.

People moan enough as it is about the over-reliance on the video ref
