As is being posted all over RLfans, these games don't have the same importance due to the end of season last 8 party. Some, on the Wigan board, have argued that we may as well put out a weak team against you and concentrate on battering Cas on the following Friday
For what its worth i hope we trample you into the floor, i want to win every game...

I am really bored of hearing all that now, you can't possibly go into a game like this not caring about the result, then expect to do well in a play off series. I can remember after we played Saints last year a local going on at me in the pub that he would bet his house on Smith resting everyone and losing on purpose against yourselves five days later. Of course he was proved quite wrong!

Well, i'm of the opinion that regardless of what people think, its a wigan game, you attend.
Even if you're picking nd choosing games, this is one of the ones that you pick and choose.
More importantly, i'm thinking further ahead in the season, If we get passed huddersfield in the cup, you'd have to say if we don't pick them up in the next round we're probably quite likely to play them in the final, this match for me is another case to lay a marker down to wigan, bully them a bit, and keep that streak alive and in their mind,
All that being said, i've been a bit disapointed at the articles in the guardian this last two weeks from mr moran and mr gatcliffe telling us to turn up (i agree) cos we need max attendances to justify expanding the ground(probably not needed currently) which is straight forward, but there's this point about the wigan game being labelled 'This is the one' as a subtle play off blah blah blah.
I dont know about anyone else, but i've not seen any marketing from the club stating this, i've only heard it mentioned in the guardian, as we've said on here in recent weeks, there's been very little if any promotion in recent years, no advertising and if it really has been dubbed 'This is the one' Surely this past month would've been a good time to be sticking out some posters around town daubed in stone roses esque designs. Which could've looked quite cool (cept to dropkick murphy).
Perhaps they could've done something on the back of the gigs at the same time we played the broncos, or even around the time the 'Made of Stone' flick came out.
Something...rather than just referring to it, a couple of times, in an interview.
rant over.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly when reading the paper this morning. I am told that there was a full page ad in the League Express, but surely anyone who buys such publications and lives in Warrington doesn't need convincing. Gatcliffe completely missed the point for me- people shouldn't go in order to fast track the expansion of the stadium, they should go because they are guaranteed 80 minutes of exciting, action packed rugby league football.
It baffles me at times how a club owned by such a successful promoter can be so poor at marketing!

| The only people who think these games are meaningless are the moaning s who don't attend. I guarantee, ask anyone in the ground during the build up to kick off if they think it's meaningless and not one would say yes.
These are the sort of games that make attending RL games a special experience. It's Wire Wiggin ffs!

| im in the states, so can't attend, but i have been bombarded with emails from the club stating that #thisistheone. so therefore i have downloaded the thing as a screensaver, and got a few of the yanks interested. i will be watching on my work pc my fox feed, and hopefully a few americans will watch and love it too.
im excited. love the wigan game, and if it doesn't sell out, and if the club aren't doing more to promote it than sending a few emails, then there is something wrong

| Biggest game of the regular season(except Wigan away) so anything less than a sell out is not good enough, as Wigan will either sell out the away end or come very close. In work till 2 then the build up can start! Now the Wire!

| The Brussels Branch (that's me, the missus, an Austrian, a Croatian, and a Greek) will be convening in the city centre for this one. Been building up the excitement for weeks.

| I'm told there was an advert on Century FM yesterday evening.
Don't know how many in total are due to be broadcast.

| Don't know about you wire fans but I've never been less excited about a Wigan-wire game, maybe a mixture of Wigan being in poor form the past few games, injuries, already clear at the top of the league so a loss wouldn't mean anything, neither would a win... To top it off its on a Monday night this is super league....

Of course, in other sports you don't get peaks and troughs, injuries, or Monday night fixtures. They were all invented by Nigel Wood and Eddie Hemmings. Get a grip!
