He never played for GB, sadly

Ronnie Duane in the centres was another player that hit the line at the same sort of speed as Mark Roberts and with the same sort of power, he was another player that had his career ruined by injury just like Mark Roberts.

| i grew up round the corner from duanes and remember that even when they were in their early teens they were a right pair of units!
ronnies injury whilst playing for gb certainly finished him as a player but prior to that he was very useful indeed.

Unless I misread it, it asks for the best British players to have played for Warrington, not the best who were capped.
Parry was a great halfback, I selected him just a head of Ken Kelly as he was a one club man (and a Wiganer )

My mistake . But it would make a good thread of best Warrington players who have played for Great Bitain.

I used to live around the corner from the Duane's too. Did you used to know Tim Grub?

Correctamundo.
Kevin Ashcroft, John Bevan and Mike Nicholas were named in the 1974 GB squad to tour NZ and Aus. Parry was widely tipped to go as number 2 scrum half to Steve Nash. His only rival was Alan Bates of Dewsbury. The week before the squad was named Wire beat Dewsbury and Parry wiped the floor with Bates, scoring 5 tries in the process. Bates was named in the squad

Funnily enough I did know him, although I steered clear of his old fella. I also seem to remember a couple of dudes called Oatway and Pumph - bringing back the biff, big style
