| I'm a bit worried that the article mentions a swap for a NRL representative player currently playing in Super League. The only player I can think of that a NRL club would be after is Paul Vaughan. I hope it's all BS.

It's a sad reflection on the current state of journalism that an editor even chose to run that 'story'. An unnamed player from an unnamed club might be swapped for another unnamed player from another unnamed club. Wow, call the Pulitzer Prize committee!

Perhaps he's been asked not to reveal it, but wants to get it out there that he knew first? That's what these faux-journalists seem to do.

There is also Sione Mata'utia. He was rumoured to be leaving Saints for a long time last season, but then signed a new contract unexpectedly. Wouldn't be a huge surprise if it were him, but I don't see which English player we'd be getting in return. That's why Burgess for Vaughan fits I guess. There are only two to choose from that I'm aware of and Burgess to Warrington to play for his brother seems a lot more likely than Saints trading Mata'utia for someone. The only logic for it would be Warrington gaining a quota space which could then be used on a different position?

| Kasiano is a former international player and we were looking to offload him. That i'd be happy with, wouldn't be happy in the slightest with Vaughan leaving. Don't think he would leave as he's settled really well here, genuinely likes it over here and even stayed here in the off season.

| Another comment on the Wigan board that Shorrocks going to Salford will see Partington come to us with Dwyer heading to Salford. May be some movement in the next few days if that’s the case.

Some of these so-called ITK's & journalists that claim to have inside knowledge very rarely do. They trawl through the forums or watch the other journalists tweets or articles and just copy them. Serious About RL is probably the worst for it.
A few months ago I tweeted a prominent Australian journalist who got something wrong about a potential Warrington signing. He then used my info to make it look like he had an exclusive.

If we do sign Partington, and having already secured Musgrove and Powell, there will certainly be a lot of spite in our forwards.
It`s something that we have been missing for several seasons.

The RugbyLeagueInTheKnow (RLITK) twitter account is run by the SARL people. They regularly delete tweets when their made up predictions come out to be rubbish. I have no idea why lots of people on this forum regularly post links to SARL articles and question if the events in their made up article would be good/bad for the club. By sending traffic their way we are only enabling their existence for longer.

There was a time when that would have been great. These days it probably just means more players missing more games through falling foul of ridiculous disciplinary charges, sadly.

It`s OK to flatten an opponent, you only get a 2 match ban.
If you call an opposition player naughty names however, that`s when you get hammered by the Disciplinary Committee.

I’ve got to challenge this comment. It’s never been ok to use someone’s disability as a stick to beat them with, and definitely not an opponents kids disability,
The only change is that if McGuire had the bottle to say it in the 70’s/80’s the sanction would have been that the next time he got the ball he would have received his “suspension” in the form of a broken jaw. The worlds turned, you can’t seek retribution on the pitch anymore, so the sanction has to be passed on to a governing body.
It’s not about being woke, or not being aloud to say mean words the same rule still apply which is don’t be a bell.

| I suppose the issue is “parity” is using the language that Maguire used as serious as putting your finger where the sun doesn’t shine. In our criminal law the former is viewed as much more serious than the latter.
