What was the excuse for the awful showing in the cup semi at Widnes in 2009?

I think it's something football teams do on the continent. It can be quite impressive when thousands are doing it and bouncing at the same time, doesn't quite work when a few hundred chavs and teenage mums who look like they've been kicked through sports direct are doing it.

The Dale Calvese certainly isnt the best song around but it did create one hell of an atmosphere! Nothing we can't beat our selves come friday night!

So we spend a season away from home and all that goes with that and get an average of 7815, not including the Wigan game on Friday. I understand the comment above is a fishing expedition. But actually the average is alot better than I thought it would be. It's within 100's of the following

I see Huddersfield have only been getting 5k at Halifax. As I live in that neck of the woods, trust me it's just as close if not closer than Widnes to Knowsley road.

You just lose the walk up's away from home. No matter the distance.

I think thats the point, its simple and keeps the singing going for the full 80, once a player does something noteworthy the fans will swap to another song



Its a poor effort, yes you could argue you will lose the walkup crowd in Widnes, but to have only 8k saints fans there for the derby was rubbish quite frankly

The average isnt that bad, its just worrying that you cant get your fans to travel 15-20 mins for arguably the biggest game of the season there.



Another very poor effort, i worry for how many Hudds will bring to the DW next week even with tickets being offered for a tenner as under 1000 would be very poor for a so called 'big club'

But that's just the way it is. We've lost 30% of our fan base this year. There are many and varied reasons. but in the end we are down around 30%. When you take a huddersfield average of about 8k I think from last year and take off 30% that gives you 5,600. Roughly what they got at Halifax.

Maybe there is some kinda of distance and travel time equation, that economist would be able to produce. But in the end fan's have to spend their money as best they can.

Personally I really don't understand the price difference between the north and south stands. They are the same spec for different price. Fans will go, but not all fans are price insensitive or transport insensitive. In the end you can see where the missing 3k comes from, with increases in unemployment, fans without transport who will not take public transport, and those who will never go to a game for years now it's no longer at knowsley road.
