| Quote: Abe Froman "Hence why he hasn't signed yet. Hull KR could make him a Marquee player. I doubt we will.'"
Rovers fan few pages back said that, my reply was I would not be given a guy who will be 32 marquee money and the fact he went home early is also a worry.

| Quote: Fantastic Mr Catpiss "Decent job is doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
The russell thing is a bit of a straw argument, he wasn't very well liked when he was here the first time, and he's not very well liked here now, his game hasn't changed, he's still 50/50 on dropping the ball when returning kicks, its the same as when ratch used to carry the ball in one hand.
Sky love hyping up dwyer and these mad runs he does, but he's a half back/coaches worst nightmare, i'd be wagering he was a hodgson signing, and tony smith has no interest in keeping him on.'"
Yeah fair enough, but i've no problems with him as a back up hooker to be honest. He does have some really good aspects to his game, he's just inconsistant. If Powell can iron that out of him and up his consistancy he could be a very handy player for us. I doubt he'll get loads of game time but he'll definately do for me to help stop Walker burning out with too much workload

| I reckon Dwyer is as good a No2 hooker as there is. He is not Daryl Clark but so be it.
I remember Dwyer & Leeming tearing Wire apart. True he is very excitable but he is also a plus player who wears his heart on his sleeve & makes as many breaks as any hooker.

| I could have torn us apart last year. I wouldn’t be too pleased with Dwyer but would prefer him to Leeming, was hoping Saints would make the mistake of signing him.

| Players like Hiku or most from the south seas are going to require near or marquee money regardless of their age because the whole family has to be cared for.
Get the best of British I say.

| As I have said before on another thread I really wouldn't be adverse to Deon cross being signed up to go alongside wrench.. do I like hiku... Yes he was good last time but left for family reasons... What would be different this time from that perspective ?

| Not seen much of Doolan, and it looks like the clubs` coaches have assessed that he isn`t ready yet for a prolonged spell of 1st team selection.
With Walker now obviously the 1st choice hooker for at least the next 3 years, we need another hooker to cover his position.
The downside of Walker playing so well, is that it makes recruiting a decent back-up hooker harder.
If Dwyer is prepared to accept a lower tier contract with us, I think he is probably going to be the best that is available, of players prepared to sign for us.

... and the best of British is currently King, Wardle, Pearce-Paul, Newman. It is a bit thin. Like everyone we are chasing the relatively unknown nugget. No wonder we are all so keen to see Wrench succeed.

Think Newman as been over hyped not helped by the clowns at Sky. SKD now I was happy he was missing when we last played HKR, even at his age I still rate him.

| One of the problems of spending a fortune on a threequarter is the fact that in some games they hardly see the ball.
In the 64-0 drubbing of Eng v France, Ashton & the left centre hardly touched the ball in the second half.
If you buy a half-back, front-row or full back at least they usually get a few touches.
So for Wire, our best player, Williams, can get himself into most games.

Nice piece of racial stereotyping there.

| Hiku going to HKR on marquee money.
Dwyer signed one year deal.

That’s a bummer, any chance we can get Michael Monaghan out of retirement.

Shame about Hiku, would have been good to see him back, not on marquee money though.
