The trouble was caused by an accumulation of things:-

Frustration at Wires performance on the pitch.

Frustration at the standard of refereeing.

Provocation either verbal or otherwise by the Catalans fans.

Reaction to the punch up at the end.

Alcohol.

Remove any of those and it probably wouldn't have happened.

I am going to restrict myself to what I know for certain .

A number of English clubs bring a large number of younger fans ,who get very very drunk. Warrington are such a club .Castleford are another . In midsummer with the temperature more than 30c 7 hours drinking can have a bad effect .

Why ban alcohol? Most rugby league fans drink responsibly and there is no trouble. Better still ban and jail the idiots who were involved in the fracas last evening, make Warrington and Catalan pay for additional stewardship and fine both clubs heavily. I think there may be some suspensions coming from that game, Wire are imploding the chairman and coach need to take action. Have the players forgot that they have a game at Wembley coming up?

Try reading through all the comments first, i slate our own fans with no excuses for them. Stop trying to make out ALL Warrington fans are the same because we're not . We've got some right bellend fans but so do Hull who always cause trouble at our ground and so do Castleford and Wigan, Even saints have some bellend fans. On the pitch we lost our Temper but Catalans were much much worse and were literally punching downed players and using knees every chance they got, they're disgraceful. The Ref didn't do his Job at all the sh!te house and made tempers even worse and our bellend fans went WAY over the top. If my little boy was there and all that supposedly happening from the box actually happened i would have taken him out the way, not scaled the walls trying to knock someone out, literally undefendable EVEN if a kid got hurt, get security involved and get them arrested. We look like an absolute disgrace of Club now even to some of the other scummy teams clubs and fans
