I didn't give any reason that he left? I just said he left at first opportunity.

That's why I put it in quotes. People seem to expect us to sign players like that, when the truth is they're not really all they cracked up to be. Certainly not in longevity or consistency.
Give me Roberts for 2 years over those guys for a few games.

| After that chase back and long drop out, Roberts can't be injured.

Doesn't take the line on / issues with his running game

The money he's on / the marquee tag
For me personally - the money doesn't matter. We're a rich club - players on big money doesn't harm us. He's only taking up 150k of cap space whatever we pay him. It's not as if he's preventing us from signing any other top players. We'd previously attempted to get Barba, Williams, Tomkins, and several more (if you believe the rumours) and failed, even though we threw silly money at them. It's not as if Inglis has been clamouring to play for us, but we had to turn him away because Roberts was taking up the marquee spot.
The "magic" NRL players we've signed recently, such as Hiku and Sandow, have been and gone in the blink of an eye - they're too good for us and jumped ship at first opportunity.'"
But in a world of salary caps and a limit of 2 marquee players, the money he is on is relevant.
He isn't good enough, as another poster has said he was a half back in a poor NRL team and nothing special....... but the least he could do is put a shift in, up his effort level and show a little passion.

I'm trying to eliminate reasons as to why he is so ineffective.

| A poor state of affairs, when he's making a 30 odd year old Brown look like Laurie Daley

| Once again not enough effort to make the last 4 mom short list.
...yes I know we've had a dig at it for being flawed, but either way, given the amount of tv airtime we've had, you'd have expected him to have been shortlisted on a number of occasions.
I don't recall it once.

The way the MOM is chosen by Sky is flawed as we saw at Leeds so I wouldn’t read to much in to that!

| I was one of the patient ones waiting for the dry pitches and the settled family / surgery to bed in. However, he was extremely disappointing last night in what should have been a chance against weaker and less experienced halves to boss the show and attack the line. We know he can do it, but he’s hanging off like he’s scared of putting pressure on his joints. Patton had far more influence last night and he’s normally guilt of some poor decisions himself.

That last bit read to me like you were giving a reason why they left, but I obviously misinterpreted it, sorry.
