Somebody had to take the role on after we gave it up...

| Cannot be any worse. They are here to do a job and god I hope they do. At least we'll have a centre playing centre.
Hudds and Wigan will take 2 points off one or the other next week.
If we can topple Cats at home, we're 2 points off the 8.
In the coming weeks after we will play Wigan. It's not a knockout game so maybe we can win.
We also play Widnes, Leigh and Wakefield during that time. We can win those. Maybe not Wakie.
Wigan have Hudds, Us, Widnes, Catalans and Leeds.
Hudds have Wigan, Salford, Widnes, Leigh and Hull FC.
Wigan are playing weak and have slipped down the table. And with the millions in the gym, maybe they could slip further.
Hudds have had a resurgence, but who knows how long it'll last.
We're terrible. But we'll have fresh legs, coming in with their own ideas on how to get things done, which can't be worse than the ideas we currently have.
I think we have the slightly easier run in. I think we will find a way. Ludicrious, I know. But I still have the faith. Luckily we still have the effort to succeed, even when talent deserts us. if we can do what we did when we went on that 6 week win run, grinding it out and finding a way to hang on, then we'lll slip in to safety.

I hope you are right. But it's not looking good. With the points difference as it is both Hudds and Wigan only need to win 3 of their 5 to ensure Top 8, assuming we win all of ours. If Catalans match us over the 5 we are doomed to the bottom 4.

| Certainly not impossible to make the 8 if we start picking up some wins but I do think it will take a small miracle to pull it off

Need to pick themselves up from this defeat for cats game or there is no chance of top 8. Next game one of the biggest of our season yet

| Rumours are a killer & i am surprised the club hasn't stepped into clarify the situation. We hear rumours of dressing room discontent but we don't know if the guys in the white hats are the players or the coaches or even a mixture of both. The main villains of the piece at the moment seem to be the board of directors for not protecting the club as a business with a statement.

| But if we lose will anything change within the club? My guess would be an opportunity from the board for Smith to bring us back up from the Championship (should the worst happen), or another year to show an improvement and finish above 9th (most likely mid-table).
It's a depressing state of affairs but that's the way it is. We should brace ourselves for another long spell of mediocrity in front of crowds well below 10,000.

| Two decent signings then. Hiku full back, and Naiqama probably centre to Russell (!) on the wing.
Ratch into the halves. Evans to Leigh or below.
Just need 2 quality forwards now to replace Sims and King, and a 2nd rower to replace the woeful Hughes, and to extend Savellio.
Naiqama looks a beast

I'll admit Hughes has had a terrible season. I wouldn't be looking to ship him out just yet as last season he was a vital cog and we looked at our worst when he didn't play.
It all comes down to what's going on behind the scenes. he's clearly troubled and its effecting his game. Where's Crosby anyway?
Rumours floating around that Pomeroy is injured already also.

Well make him compete for his place at least instead of an ever present. He's been terrible this season, it's got to the point where he cannot play the ball without spilling it.

| I don't think it is helping Hughes's case to be playing at centre instead of in the forwards. I was only thinking during the warm up on Saturday that our players seemed chubbier than Wigan's leaner ,more ready for a game team & if Pomeroy is already injured i can't really say i'm surprised.
