We, like yourselves, come from the 22 disaffected rugby clubs who signed a document to form the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895. However, our history can be traced back to 1864 whereas your earliest mentions are 1875. icon_thumb.gif

Battered by a pack that was more aggressive, powerful and intelligent with the ball.

Forget about the backs, Myler and Bridge had no chance because nothing was going on up front. Monaghan has been dodgy for a couple of weeks, Harrison and Carvell are far better players than they showed last night.

McGillvary is a real talent but the way he runs head on without any attempt to evade the man is going to lead to him getting a serious injury. Even if Morley had stayed perfectly still McGillvary's head would still have run straight into his shoulder, despite Eddie's bleating.

Quote: wire-till-i-die "hes basing it on the fact you,ve been in 2 major finals recently and choked in them both'"

First cup final we, in my opinion, were out of our depth - but we made it there.
Second cup final, agree we choked on the day as we didn't have enough big game players.

Our squad has grown and changed dramatically since that 2009 defeat, which for me was epitomised when we beat you in the play offs last year. So I ask the question again and hope for a more intelligent comment than

Because I am interested to know how anyone, after only 9 games of a season, is prepared to make a comment like that?

Agree with all that. I would add that we also massively assisted our own downfall by the amount of ball we spilled. The similarities between the two games against the Giants this season are scary.

Although we did contribute to our own downfall, and played poorly, that's not to suggest that this was the only reason we lost. Huddersfield played well (in parts) and were by far the better team. No complaints - just dissappointing that in two games against them we haven't shown up properly. We'll see them again though - at least once, probably more - before the season is out.

no kicking game,no playmaker ,no idea, maybe we are a one man team after all.on the subject of clarke not good enough, but not on his own, bridge should not be selling programmes never mind playing.TS needs take along hard look at team selection,Evans not a winger,Bridge(already mentioned),Atkins cant pass,etc.etc. not a lot of pace in side either so we drop our quickest player, Riley, and play a centre instead.logic lost on me somewhere?also seem to have five steam rollers in our pack and not much creativity.Apart from that we are sound.

as for humility YED i think its a bit harsh judging us all by a couple of giddy posters, let us enjoy it as we let you enjoy your cup final victory, and on that point, wakefield beat us once in a cup final, but has ultimately proved irrelevent to whats happened the last few years in the league icon_wink.gif

now i'm also aware that you were in big financial turmoil at the time and needed the money from sky due to sheffield but it still must leave a bitter taste in your mouth?

What 30 year trophy drought
Try telling that, to those players with winners medals in Premiership, JPS/Regal trophy, Lancs Cup winning sides.

Yes, we've had a couple of cup final victories recently, but a few of your posters on here need to change their sticky underwear, after an early season (where nowt's won) victory.

and Cas are top of the league. Cas must be better than them, that's how it works isn't it?

We have a better attack than Huddersfield and a better defence. We've played Saints, Wigan and Leeds and they've played us and Wigan. Let's see where they are after a tough run of teams.
