| Sign him outside the top 25 (so not in salary cap) to do a job in the reserves and 5 games a year in SL covering for injuries I’m not too concerned. Sign him as a player expected to transform our pack in to a title winning team. I’d be very concerned indeed.

| Quote Mighty_Wires88="Mighty_Wires88"Unfortunately it kinda makes sense if it is true. We all know our pack is currently lacking firepower.
Wigan have two props incoming in 2020, including George Burgess...
Lockers is looking like doing another 12 months also.
They are well loaded in the forwards in 2020; T.Clubb, B.Flower, J.Bullock, Mitch Clark, G.Burgess, O.Partington, R.Navaratte, L.Byrne, Ethan Havard... so that’s 9 props!
Added to that Lockers & Smithies at 13.
Navaratte didn’t play the last couple of games of the season & was overlooked by the younger players in the squad. Lam has already mentioned at the start of this week his squad for next season still requires some ‘reshuffling’...'"
All the more reason we should not sign him, can’t get a game there so why should he here.

Because we apply lower standards and have inferior young player development. A number of players ejected by Wigan have recently made it into our first team. (Russell, Hughes, Crosby)

Wigan are always likely to give opportunities to the younger players (one of their own) they always have done & that’s why they are one of the best in Super League at producing talent. Furthermore, Partington/Smithies have progressed more than anticipate this season and really caught the eye, it might just be a case of Navarrete being squeezed out rather down to his ability/attitude.

| Navarette definitely fits out recent prop recruitment profile! Signed as a reserve teamer/ backup thefb I'm OK with it. He's a waste of cap if he is in the top 25 earners. It would be another underwhelming signing but we do need reserve players.

| Quote morrisseyisawire="morrisseyisawire"but I can't let the Navarette one go.
If he signs it will be the most stupid signing since Wheeler. The bloke is a useless, no impact penalty and error machine who makes Warren Stevens look like Les Boyd.'"
Sounds like a Tony Smith signing to me..... watch out Hull KR

| Not sure Tetevano would come to the UK now, He's just Broken in to the New zealand team, and the aussies and Kiwi's seem to rarely pick players in the UK so that might sway his decision....IF we're actually in for him?

Never seemed to bother Kiwis, they also pick that bloke from Wigan

| Go back to Fitzpatrick’s interview. No way will Navarette be the main prop signing, if he is signed.

I think it works the other way round. Wigan are one of the best in Super League at producing talent and that's why they can give opportunities to younger players. Those players then displace others, who are farmed off to other SL clubs like us.
The players getting displaced also includes their own home grown players, when a better home grown player emerges through the ranks later on.
They have the talent conveyor belt to sustain that kind of healthy churn. Whereas we on the other hand produce so few players who are even SL quality, that guys who are just average SL starters will likely hang around in the first team for several years.
