...and becoming more apparent why we need a clear out. I honestly think Currie would have gone at the end of the season too if he didn't have another year on his contract.
It's only Cooper as far as I can see who's been accepted by a heavyweight club, the rest aren't even being courted by mid-table clubs (as far as I can see) bar Widdop, though I don't have a list of all those leaving players.

lets be honest... value for money wise, widdop was a terrible player to have on the books.
cooper is the only player i have been a bit gutted about, as ive always liked him... but i realise there are 'reasons' for the exit... so im totally fine with it.

| I can't think of a club doing better mid season business in superleague. I may be wrong on that and there could be things I've overlooked but mikaele, Wardle, Nicholson and even amor have made a very quick impact on the team, should throw Harrison in there too. I'm really glad that the club have acted mid season rather than waiting until next season. Credit where its due.
We don't know how well the signings for next season will go, but on paper there is some great business for the 2023 squad. Tie up Wardle as well and I'll be delighted.

| I wonder if this fresh blood will give Currie a new lease of life. The talent is there.

| Currie hasn't been great but I think we do hold him to a high standard sometimes. He didn't look out of place on Sunday for me.

| I know the rumours of Hughes to Leigh have just popped up, but him signing with Huddersfield have been doing the rounds for a few months now so that might be an actual thing.
Matt Davis i really like, he's full of energy and aggression and never takes a backwards step. He's just not big enough to play in the forwards at this level, which isn't his fault.
Jason Clark i think is retiring, Widdops off to Cas and Coops to the scummy pies. The rest i think are off to lower league teams.
I can't wait for next year i really can't, but i'm excited to see if we can hold on to the form shown at catalans and start pushing hard for the playoffs

I thought he looked hungry and much more confident running his lines. I guess that’s because the team as a whole seemed to be enjoying themselves and feeling buoyant. If he can get back to near his best, that left edge with Wardle <<prays for 2023>> and Ashton could be lethal.

Yes and reveals what I suspected over the past few years: the Price squad wasn't "as good as any in Super League" which we tried to claim. It was really a bunch of good-but-not-great individual players, who weren't leaders, who would interest mid-table clubs but not the teams who were winning Grand Finals.
Now our players are available and being moved on, there isn't a big rush from Saints or Wigan to pick off our talent. They are looking at our players and thinking hmmm thanks, we'll pass. Apart from Cooper.

There's potential for 2023 on the go forward front. I was wondering if we needed to bring in another starting prop alongside Vaughn, but Harrison looks like he might fit the bill. It's hard to asses with the weakened Cats team, but looking forward to him offering more of the same against Cas. Mikaele looked good too and for some reason reminded me of a young Barry White (The Walrus of Offload, perhaps).
As for King/Wardle, some times it needs a change of club to reignite the hunger for the game with some players. A permanent swap might be the answer for both of them, subject to Wigan not having Wardle already committed for 2023.

We have Dudson as well of course, Whether we go for pure impact off the bench and start Dudson & Vaughan at prop and McGuire? at loose then bring on Kasiano, Mikaele and Harrison after 25 - 30 minutes or whether they look to start Mikaele with Vaughan/Dudson so we always have that impact threat on the pitch for a longer proportion of the 80 minutes will be interesting.

Of the players that you have mentioned, Harrison seems to have the engine, to play the full 80 minutes at 13

I'd go with the former and have Kasiano and Micheale on at the same time, providing they could both operate defensively. It's easier to nullify one, but with two threats such as these, we'd really open teams up and create a lot of space for our backs.

I've never rated Dudson, but yes he is an option. Harrison has the potential to be a very good utility forward, and more game time would help to ascertain what his level is. Add McGuire (has he been confirmed?) into the mix and there's the makings of a very good pack for 2023. With Vaughn, Mikaele, Harrison, Dudson and Kasiano where does that leave Mulhern and Philbin?

| Can’t see Mulhern being here and where it leaves Philbin is in a position where he has to bust an absolute gut to get in the 17 when he’s back to fitness. That is how it should be, that’s how Saints and Wigan operate and that’s where we need to be. We should have quality that goes deep into the squad and quality that is desperate to make it into a very successful first 17….and desperate to stay there.
