Dufty might seem like a strange signing because of Thewlis, but if you ignore that and assume one of them will play elsewhere like centre or on the wing (Charnley posting videos of himself made by his agency all over social media incidentally) he could be a good signing.'"
There is nowhere that Dufty can play that isn't already covered by established talent or academy prospects.
It doesn't really matter if he's a good player or not, he's not what we need. Especially when you consider we're in a salary-capped sport with a limit on overseas signings.

Mikaele i've got no complaints with at all, hard hitting aggressive Prop just what we need
Dufty makes Ben barba look like the world's greatest defender!

| Earlier today I was quietly hopeful for next season.
Well, I’m afraid I won’t be around for 2023 at this rate. I’ll be off watching our academy products at other clubs and being proud of what talents we unearthed for opposition teams.
This is truly the worst thing I’ve seen happen at the club for many a year. Poor Thewlis.

Don't worry we have a great track record in getting the best out of players we sign from Australian clubs.

| This signing is more ridiculous than believing Joe Bullock is on 5 grand a week.

| Bar occasionally casting my eyes up from my usual Saturday/Sunday morning insomnia, I have little knowledge of NRL players, bar a few big names.
Never heard of the fella. Why is a 26 year old bloke coming to SL, if other NRL clubs aren't interested?
As I've said before. No promising youngster at our club should stay here, for the good of their career's. We CONTINUALLY throw good money at Australians or big name Brits, without giving our youth a (regular) chance, or them being dropped if they've not played like a young Ellery Hanley, in one game.
Saints' and Wigan's squads are littered with youth players they've given a chance to. We just get the chequebook out.
Gone are the days of Penny, Harris, Hilton, Wainwright, Roper and Sculthorpe, where we have youth a chance

| Not one positive post associated with this signing.

No Canterbury fans rate him either. But disregarding fans opinions, the guy is 26 and not ONE nrl club wants anything to do with him. And that includes that new club the dolphins who are scratching around for players!

Which means he'll be man of steel over here according to Aussie fans. Apparently he's suddenly rated highly and will tear opposition apart and immediately be man of steel. These are genuine comments from Aussies saying he's a better fullback then half the players in the NRL currently. Must be something wrong for nobody to be interested, he's been none existant in the games i'll seen this year and last year.
I asked the Mole about Dufty signing for next year and Mikaele coming over this year, he hasn't replied but has liked my comment. Read in to that what you will?

| If we do sign Dufty and play him at fullback instead of Thewlis I won’t be renewing my season ticket next year for the first time in over 40 years.

| Whether Dufty is the greatest fullback in the world or a chancer who sees pound signs when Wire are mentioned, it's still a ridiculous signing if true when a fullback is the least of our worries.
Waste of cap space & waste of a quota spot.
Why isn't kisscamkarl tapping up prop forwards.....because that would make sense, that's why!
Never mind, if he's been to the magic round whilst he's over there then what's the betting the HJ gets a "flying fox" skycam, just what we need!!!

| If the Dufty rumour is true then I will back Powell on the signing for now.
Now I am gonna say something here that people will laugh at so here goes.
When Powell was in charge of Leeds he had a young No 7 called Rob Burrow that was 20 years old but then signed "journeyman" aussie Andrew Dunneman from Halifax. Halifax only won 7 out of 28 games in 2002 so I would guess the Leeds fans weren't over the moon with that signing and probably saying exactly what we are saying.
Burrow made his Leeds debut in 2001 and had played just short of 50 games before Dunneman arrived. I wonder how many games Thewlis will have played before Dufty lands. Now I am not saying it will turn out the same way but if Thewlis ends up with half the number of Grand final rings as Rob Burrow then I would be happy.
Thewlis is the future but even the most one eyed wire fans must realise he is not the finished article and I would think that Josh Thewlis himself knows that just as Burrow probably did at the time..
