| Quote: BrisbaneRhino "Sandow hasn't even been playing Queensland Cup this year. The last I remember seeing of him was a filmed drunken street fight. Forget the Sandow of 2015/16, he's not done anything of note on a rugby field for at least two years.
In that respect Eastmond would probably be less of a risk, as he at least has looked after himself physically. I've no idea on what basis anyone thinks he'd be a star halfback though, he barely played a full season there for Sts, and spent the time after he announced he left trying to avoid getting hurt. In any event if he came back next year it would be 8 years since he left RL. That's a long time to be out of the game. He could be a centre, but would he be worth marquee money?'"
When we purchased Sandow he was 4th in the Daly M list. After his warming in period (Barba was also a slow starter with saints) at the end of season 2015, he started off 2016 with consecutive player of the month awards, showing quite clearly at that point why the risk was made.
Eastmond is a different type of gamble but if he can avoid injury he has outstanding dynamism and core skills- if fully fit, a level above the vast majority of current super league players. With the additional benefits of the 'returning union cap thing', he's a worthy gamble in my opinion.

I have a very strong feeling that only Warrington will run at near £2m cap with 2 marquee signings.
If Wigan are letting big names go and siting value for money as a reason to release one of the best players in SL...you can be sure they'll not run at full cap, and Wane knows it.
2019 can't come quick enough for me...Warrington should smash through to the 20 20s.

| Much rather risk our cash on Sandow, he should be a considerable saving in year one, give him a tempter in year two if all goes well on and off the field.

| I didn't like Sandow having such an influence that we were rudderless without him. I'd have preferred a stronger core of halves and to utilise Sandow from the bench like Albert Kelly.
Could you imagine?!

| I'd just like to point out, how amusing it was that mario did his article, spammed it on here and a few other boards to inspire faux outrage and the big unveil for toronto was in fact their new mascot.

Maybe that is just Sandow's disguise for when he's in the UK, to avoid certain people who may want to pay him a visit?
PS since I'm not on Instagram, what did he say about Smith?

| My last view of Sandow was at Old Trafford,no more than 10 yards away, giving his boots to a little lad. I remember thinking at the time that he wouldn't be coming back.

| What message would it send out to the rest of the playing squad though if we just let Sandow walk back in after the way he left?

| Quote: MarioRugby "Sandow has signed for Hull KR'"
Quote: MarioRugby "Former Warrington half back Chris Sandow is set for a shock return to the full time game with news he is on the verge of signing for Toronto Wolfpack.
The mercurial half back lit Super League alight during his time with Warrington but later fell prey to Warrington's poor culture of unprofessional instilled by head coach Tony Smith.
Rumours have been circulating about Sandow's future for months and peaked yesterday after a cryptic instagram post by him suggesting he had just signed for a new club. This was followed by a post by Toronto Wolfpack on social media late last night suggesting that a new signing announcement was imminent (although some have suggested this could be a club mascot).
Signing Sandow now is thought to be linked to Toronto's start of a 9 week stretch they have of games in North America. It is believed he could only be announced now so as he can play the requisite amount of games required in North America so as in order to obtain a UK visa for the Middle 8's towards the end of the season. Sandow's lack of recent full time games back in Australia mean he doesn't automatically qualify for a UK work Visa.
The mercurial halfback is another huge statement of intent by the Toronto club and sees them retain their position as bookies favorites for promotion towards the end of the year.'"
What's that saying? Throw enough at the wall and see what sticks?
