| Todays rugby press indicates Roys contract will not be renewed. Sad to see a player who was once decent doing so badly

| Agree wholeheartedly that 'you know who' is a waste of space, but he doesn't pick himself to be in the team every week, that's down to the coaching staff!

| As has been said Roy doesn't pick himself and nor did he sign himself - the blame lies solely with whoever recruited him. As has been alluded to in another thread and was in the League Weekly pre-season that Smith and Moran like to sit down quite often and plan meticulously. Well the planning that's led to the last two season's has been pretty woeful. If you need a stopgap signing - make one rather than just ambling along hoping to get through without the two most important positions in the team.
It is a poor Super League and with good planning we could have been waltzing away with it....instead of fighting to stay in it.

Had just about the correct amount of nasty about him, whilst keeping it legal.
Unlucky for him that Graham and our own Hill are above him in the pecking order, internationally.
Correct, our No 15 is ooc, come the end of the season.
We're replacing him with something that's more use. T!ts on a fish.'"
There's no way LMS is a better player than Asotasi.

Wow, that has to quite possibly be the worst attempt at trolling in the history of internet forums.

| I would go so far as to say Asotasi has been the worst EVER import into SL from the NRL.

| I've made my point in past posts about this waste of skin, how he can look himself in the mirror in the morning after essentially robbing a living for the past (how many months) is beyond me.

Did you see Vic Mauro and Liam Foran for us a couple of seasons back? Mauro was part of the Manly team that played in the 2011 NRL GF but was nothing short of poop for us.
Just checked and he appears to have retired at the age of 26..... playing for Salford must have been the straw that broke the camels back!
Foran is brother of NZ international Kieran..... reminds me of when we had Chris Morley instead of Adrian... there really was that much of a gulf in class!

| Big Roy doesn't even come close.
When it comes to pure theft in a p&b shirt, that accolade goes out to Andy Currier.
Big Roy looks every thing like he had it and lost it, Currier on the other hand was the complete opposite, he had it and hid it.

| 15 Minutes a game is a joke for a 'professional' rugby league player. Chris Hill must look at him and think 'are you taking the piddle'!! Pathetic, needs to go. He will have to do more minutes surely when England cops a ban....

The thing is, I think he has always done this amount of game time since he signed for us. I can't believe any coach would contemplate putting his other forwards under additional pressure through added game time and the commensurate risk of injury, fatigue and errors unless there was no other option. That leads me to think that perhaps he has a chronic injury which curtials his game time. Otherwise you would just leave him out there longer. But it also makes me wonder why, if that was the case, did we not agree a severance deal at the end of last season given the obviously limited contribution he was going to be able to make this year. I find it all really odd - I'd love to know whether he contributes to development work of younger forwards or anything really to offset his limited time on the pitch.

| Roy has not been offered a new deal and will likely retire at the end of the season, 3 years too late.

Don't get me wrong I'm as fustrated as the next Wire supporter.
But a don't blame Roy at all.
I know that I would do the same if I was in his position.
He is simply too old, or more likely too high "mileage"
At the Catalan game he looked to have lost weight, - harder a indicator he's stealing a living (ie on holiday )
I blame whoever hired him / gave him a two year contract.
Dropping out of the world cup squad in 2013 was an insight what was to come.
Paul Rauhihi (sic) was less interested than Roy, although I admit that ball steal on Gareth Eliis was quality & Roy has not scaled those heights

Agree with this.
I've stopped blaming Asotasi (as of yesterday !) as it's not going to change anything and it ends up winding me up!
Rauhihi was OK I thought but punched below his weight, except in one game at the HJ against Leeds where he absolutely bossed it.
I could never understand why just in that one game he reached those heights.
The hiring of staff is a key issue and we've been less than good at it.
Even getting Gidley in raises a few questions for me - such as how are we going to play him in our system. Ratch could end up being shunted around - and that's not the right thing for him. I'd like him at f/b but looks like Gidley is there, and I don't thing Ratch will ever be a top class half. He can do more than an adequate job don't get me wrong, but I am left wondering)
