Enjoyable game it was . Missed a team sheet . Who was the Wire number 6 ? Also that Hull number 5 can shift a bit .

Number 6 was Louis Jouffret.

The Hull number 5 who I think scored a hat trick was Callum Lancaster, he turned 17 in October. I can see why he got a great number of tries at U15's and U16's, he was rapid to stop a certain try, and nearly stopped another.

Lancaster got 3 tries v Wigan at u16 level last year, he's very quick.

Thought this was a good match, but letting a big lead of 30-10 slip away will not have pleased Mr Fullerton. In the forwards, Maneely got through a lot of tackling and was a rock in defence. Joe Philbin ( 2 tries) I thought was the stand out forward, but King made some good yards. I think the pack missed Tom Walker, who I hear was injured. Harvey Livett stepped seamlessly from U16 to U19, scored a good try and missed only one conversion. Apart from one blemish, his defence was very good with plenty of aggression - he looks a natural. Meanwhile Toby King carried on from where he ended last season. He is not blessed with scorching pace, but is an elusive runner and invariably in the right place at the right time. Jack Johnson moved from wing to FB and was pretty solid. Patton's kicking game looks as though he has been talking to Lee Briers, although high kicks to the corner for the diminutive Johnson to leap and catch seem a bit on the optimistic side - unless he was aiming for Livett ? I will have missed plenty of other good moves, but it was a good game for the team to get the season underway and perhaps they will not be quite so rusty next week.

Some good support today, including the Evans twins and Ormsby from 'the first team' .

I thought individuals who stood out for us were 13 and 18 in defence and 4 and 11 going forward. I think we just tired in the second half.

I understand that the U19's are away against London on Saturday at Hemel. But do we know which ground ? Are they using the Stag's ?
