There may be some parallels between Hock & Newton, so I suppose you could argue we should take a pragmatic view. However, it seems to me that whatever anger, injustice, fear or sadness Terry Newton felt about the world he took out on himself, sadly to the ultimate conclusion. Hock, on the other hand, appears to be at war with the world and whatever issues he has, and he clearly has many, he takes out on those around him. The Harrison incident alone is evidence of this.

One of the suspects played for the Knights on Saturday , pretty close to MoM by all accounts .

For what it's worth I think this is a bit harsh on Hock considering the others aren't being kicked out. The only difference between him and the others was he missed a 10 minute swimming session because he overslept.

What about those who can't swim ? Have they been sent home too ?

I'm sure there's some sort of in-squad discipline to be handed out to those who were also with Hock, but not turning up is a pretty big deal when you're a top athlete. Think of when Tony said about (I think) Matt King, that there are times players don't know they're injured and want to play and it's the job of medics in the warm down to properly asses them.

More than that though, he's playing for bloomin England, it's not a turn up when you feel like it/sorry I overslept/my dog ate my homework.

He's a total plank and I really feel sorry for Moz having to be in the same side as him next season.

The squad would be pretty threadbare if the other culprits were kicked out at such a late stage considering Mac Namara wouldn't have any Knights to call on. Personally ,i would have left Hock in the squad because, love him or hate him, he is one of our few forwards capable of causing problems for the Southern hemisphere teams especially if we are to have any hope of winning the competition.

There cant be much of a siege mentality when they're throwing one of their own over the ramparts!

I'm torn on it if i'm honest, firstly i think full expulsion is incredibley harsh, being punished is a no brainer, but kicking him out leaves no avenue for reflection and the effort to get back in the good books by training harder and proving his worth.
The other side of says, What about the guys who turn up and train harder and follow all the rules and still don't get a place in the squad.

From what appears to have gone on regarding Hock and others, it seems he has reacted badly to being disciplined and has then been removed from the squad.
As much as he is disliked, Hock is a handful in attack and works hard. Without doubt we will be weaker without him. So this season we've lost JP, Moz, Ellis and now Hock.

He and the other halfwits just lack a proper understanding of what this competition is about...............

its everything us fans have wanted, its a well publicised, well organised (so far) well priced "world" event played all over the country in great stadiums, with a TV channel that has every game Live, the bbc is covering it well, and like most world cups we have a chance to have crack at the Aussie and show everyone we arent that far behind them......(of course we wont win it)...

its a massive event for fans, players and the sport as a whole.

I can only imagine what kind of feckin half wit head numskull thinks the best way to get over a loss to a crap side like Italy is to have a few drinks when you know full well its been BANNED............

how can this man say its harsh....amazingly the drinking ban was to be lifted after this weekend anyway .... why they cant stay off the stuff for the tournament I dont know...........
