FORUMS > Warrington Wolves > Danny brough |
|
| I couldn't give a flying one if Brough is the best half in SuperLeague by a country mile (which he isn't, IMO, in any case) - he played for Scotland in the last World Cup, therefore he shouldn't have a choice whether he plays for England or not this time round. That he was allowed to play for England against the Exiles the other year is indicative of the farcical nature of the international eligibility rules in RL.

I found it quite amusing that after the lynchmob calling McNamara all sorts over this, Smith comes out with a common sense explanation and suddenly everyone agrees.
All good and well having a great footballing mind but attitude is just as important at test level. Look no further than Long in 06. He pulled all the strings in that win, but his attitude stank and he wrecked the tour.
As for Chase I don't really care. He is eligible so if he is on form in October play him. I never hear any Queenslanders complain when Inglis pulls on the maroon jersey.

| The only problem is that Chase is hardly a model professional either...

| Giants fans a tad upset with their former boss. Understand where TS is coming from but perhaps any comments about Brough's latest change of allegance should come from McNamara first. Shame, I would like to have seen Brough and Myler with Sinfield at LF.

Do you feel the same about Chris Bridge and Ben Harrison playing for England ?

Yes, I do. The fact they play for Warrington is immaterial.

Sinfield as much as I admire him and believe he has been the most consistent player in the Super League era has NEVER really performed at International level and Chase is a Kiwi!!!!!!!'"
For me, Ratch is a full back.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, excuse me, can I have some attention, please. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.....THE POST OF THE YEAR
This is the very essence of why RL is laughed at, by all and sundry.
A player can change his nationality at the drop of a hat. JOKE.
A player should state his (RL) nationality, when he first signs professional terms, AND IT DOESN'T CHANGE.
Back on thread, Brough is a great SL player, but, that's where it ends. He simply wont (imo) cut it at international level. He'd've got found out.
Of course, we can all compare him with a certain Warrington half-back, who frittered away a chunk of his career, but, if Brough doesn't "knuckle down", he'll be seen as a poor man's Lee Briers for the remainder of his career.
IT'S HIS CALL. There's no point him being all "Millwall" about it (no-one likes me, I don't care). Time for him to grow-up, me thinks.

One game matey, he has been awesome for most games this season.
I would have fancied Myler and Brough for England but that to$$er McBanana should never have been picked as England coach, he is worse than useless.

Probably just started to climb out of Travis Burn's pocket as we speak.

Really? I don't think anybody who isn't actually a fan of rugby league knows anything about this and gives the slightest toss. The only people who seem to get upset are, in their usual default mode of talking the game down, a minority of rugby league fans.
No doubt it'll be given as another reason why rugby league cannot compete with rugby union at international level, not sure that's true. Anyway I'm off to watch the over-hyped British, Samoa, Tonga, South African Lions take on the Queensland Reds.
