Grand Final.

The Challenge Cup wouldn't be a bad consolation though.

CC, as long as we win. Only Wigan and Saints have EVER done 3 CCs in a row.

Wembley every time.

one of the Most famous and Historic trophies in world Sport.
played at one of the most famous and Historic venues in world sport.

The Grand final is played on a wet weekend in November in Salford.

So many Memories over the years from Joe Lydon going the Full length for Widnes, to his drop goal for Wigan in the semi, Wire finally getting there in 90, sheffield Eagles win in 98, the 85 classic sterlo v Kenny. Mark Elia dropping the ball over the line for saints in 87. Oh and that team that became famous on the back of a long run of wembley wins.....

I'll be gutted if we dont take the Challenge cup seriously and get knocked out with a half ar$ed performance, and reel out the "We can concentrate on the league" line.

you dont have to concentrate on the league, we easily can lose 8 or 9 more games this year and still be in with a shout at appearing at Old Trafford.

I wouldnt turn my nose up at a grand final win of course...and I would be straight on the Wigan board giving it large but Wembley is the one for me.

As usual I agree with the biscuit

Both would be great but I think the experience of winning at Old Trafford is better for those inside the dressing room and everybody else is slightly on the periphery, whereas Wembley is a great occasion which celebrates the club as a whole. I think the Grand Final has an anti-climax ending for the fans, obviously it's great for the players, but at Old Trafford the final hooter sounds, you watch the celebration then everybody makes their way home getting stuck in traffic or queuing at the tram station etc. It doesn't have the same feeling of Wembley where people stick around enjoying the day.

Agree with all that there just isn't the same sense of occasion at the Grand Final that you get on an August day at the one of the most famous stadiums in world sport Wembley stadium.
The Grand Final is manufactured by Sky played in a football stadium on a cold October evening..No contest for me...

I wouldn't turn down a Grand Final win though... icon_smile.gif

It's 37 years ago next weekend that we won the final in 1974. A week later we won the Premiership final. I know which meant the most.

I'm not too fussed about the atmosphere, I think the atmosphere at the CC Finals has been pretty flat, it's better in the services on the way than in the ground. I think the countdown knowing you're the best team in SL and can carry the champions tag for the next year would be special. I was there in 2004 when Leeds beat Bradford, I felt it amongst their fans. The only thing for me that gets me about the GF is the weather, it makes it such a miserable experience, walking to that tram getting pee'd on, that's where Wembley has edged it. If we had a wet Wembley, that would be crap.

Plus, The Birdcage would be awesome afterwards.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union. www.squadbuilder.co.uk:1883.jpg
