Loan off myler(20 odd tries last year yet underperformed apparently) and keep an ageing clarke in the starting 17? Brilliant thinking!

Quote: Peckerwood "On the basis of the article in LE, Hull would want him on a loan deal until the end of this coming season. Seeing as we have five pivotal players in Briers, Monaghan, Clarke, Higham and Myler I don't see why we can't loan off Myler for the year and play Monaghan at 7 with Clarke and Higham rotating hookers.'"

Completely stupid.

Out of your five "pivotal players" only three of those are first rate half-backs with one of them being not only Warrington's first choice hooker but also arguably the best hooker in the league. So you are going to send one of our first choice half-backs on loan for 12 months to one of our rival clubs leaving uis only two first choice half-backs and weaker at hooker. You're no Wayne Bennett.

Alos as you "don't see why we can't loan off Myler" I suggest you might wish to visit Spec-Savers when they re-open following the festive season as there is obviously something wrong with your eye-sight.

+1 sorry

I'd love RMyler to stay next year. He needs the game time and needs some responsibility. I believe in him and everyone who does should hope to see him improve next season.

I think we should have JC and obviously MM as Hooker. I think he is great here.

I don't mean to sound flippant or crude but i would love to see us either replace or get rid of one trick Mick. I don't know what he brings us except a second rate Cunningham flop. I am open to be lambasted, as long as i am told what he brings.

It may be one trick, but at least it's effective. When we were very lethargic and almost beaten by bradford away last year higham won us the game with 2 short range tries. He also single-handedly got us back into the play off game versus hudds to the point where we almost snatched an undeserved win. These are just 2 examples from last season, please feel free to point me in the direction of anything simliar clarke did.

I can't pin point times. Just vague memories. They aren't worth much but he is an outstandingly good Hooker. His passes from dummy half are inspired.

I do think your view on Higham is prejudiced by the fact that Wigan stupidly signed him to be something he isn't - a starting, organising hooker.

As an impact hooker Higham is probably only second behind Roby in the league for me and Roby now has to step up to fill Cunningham's shoes as the starting hooker.

Higham's problems of poor distribution and conceding of penalties tend to come when he has been left on too long and starts to tire. You only need to look at how Smith put him straight into the Wembley 17 for 2009 after being out for months to realise how much Smith rates him in the impact role. Do you claim better knowledge on Higham than Smith?

Anyway back on topic - it seems to me that the conspiracy theorists who insist Smith and Myler fell out over his Wembley omission are active again. I expect Myler to be working hard in the gym and looking forward to some one on one coaching from Johns again with a view to being a key part of a succesfull season for Warrington.

I fancy a little wager on him being Super League's top try-scorer.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union. www.squadbuilder.co.uk:1883.jpg

I am a little confounded by the comments regarding Myler not being a dominate half. As long as Briers is in the side, he will call the plays, dictate the tempo of the game and so-on and so-forth. Even in Briers' absence, Monaghan has been the dictator of play, understandably so consider his experience.

Only when Briers hangs up his boots will Myler be able to be judged.

I thought Myler had said he didn't want to move to Hull, because it was to far from his home town.

To some greatness comes naturally In Smith we trust:Black Backgrounds/Animal.gif

I hope this is not true. It's a pity that the team are off at the moment as we could see Myler training or around town. can't imagine this to be true unless we have some replacement of quality in line. For me Michael Monaghan should not be thought of as a full term 7. He is the best hooker we have.

I'm hoping that this 'rumour' is all that it is. Why would we want to offload Myler with 6 weeks to the start of the season with a virtual zero chance of getting a decent replacement. I really hope if this move happens that we're not going to see Monas at 7 all year. ISWT

As Emo Philips said "You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman: Stuff you pay good money for in later life.:12130.jpg

Smith watched him, Smith signed him and Smith will continue to develop him. He has great pace, anticipation and a natural ability to be in the right place at the right time. His defence is nowhere near as bad as some think, and he has a magical ability for a 1 on 1 ball steal.

He hasn't fully imposed himself on the oppostion yet but is only 20 so has time to develop the leadership side to his game. If people try and compare him to Briers they will always be disappointed. We need to develop Myler into a McGuire type player which he is fully capable of achieving.

Letting him go now would be complete madness and I can't see it happening in a million years.

It's been fun.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_44480.jpg

Sometimes people are labelled a 'one trick player' but sometimes is that really a bad thing ?

Imagine if Briers only one trick was organising the team, Morleys was running in hard making good yards the wingers was scoring tries, the centres only trick drawing in men and offloading to the wingers, Monas was making 15 to 20 yards at dummy half through disorganised defence, Mylers was being in the right place at the right time.

Now i'm not saying the above guys are one trick players but sometimes having only one trick is all they need.

Henry Fa' afili is the best example, he truely was a one trick pony for me but that one trick was scoring tries, was that a bad thing ?
