monaghan at half back is a stupid idea. clarke has been good on his return and deserves a plce but is not in the same league as monas at hooker. we need myler to partner briers as he offers more in attack. if he saying he not playing myler as he will be targeted , then every team are going to target him and there's no point in spending that monay or having him on the cap. monas at hooker myler partnering briers let clarke and higham fight it out for place on the bench.

but if you look at how we've played this year, there's been some constants.

Monas being a threat at DH, which has been aided a lot by myler continually pushing through, being on the shoulder, (usually getting knocked on his off the ball but not getting a penalty for it) that causes confusion in the defence, people don't get back quick enough into position there's delay in markers getting set and its from that monas does his best work, not scooting and pinching cheap yards but getting up and then running at the line, we've not seen of his scything show and goes for ages now.

I agree, we completely went away from how we had been playing for the first 3/4 of the season or so and served us very well to accomodate Clarke.

We lost all the creative imput that Monaghan was having in the earlier rounds of the league and cup by putting him at half back. As has been stated, Clarke was playing well but no where well enough to oust Monaghan from his best position. I would say play that game again with Myler starting and just having Clarke or Higham on the bench things would have been different.

Another thing that popped into my head.....did we really miss Harrison that much?

Vinnie was pretty diabolical in the first 20 especially where Harrison would have been steady and reliable in defence.

I'm not sure why we didn't play Clarke at 7 if Smith didn't want to expose Myler. Monaghan should never play anywhere other than 9.

We were not tired just outplayed by Huddersfield in the first half and lacked ideas. When we were on the comeback we did not look tired then did we?

Still, 33weeks we've been on the road for, grounded out a win against the League Leaders in a play off match and will be ready for another this weekend.

32 weeks you've been on the road for, lost 2 play off games and are using the excuse that the players were tired.

Me thinks your players shouldn't be.
