Quote: Milly "I would say I am a typical Wire fan.

I go to matches as and when I can.

I go with family and friends and meet up with others at the ground. I like to have a bit of friendly banter with the opposition supporters.

I don't get bladdered, don't swear (much), like a bit of a chant when appropriate but don't like being told what to do by 14 year olds with a drum.

I don't always 'sing' but shout my support in relation to what is happening on the pitch.

I like to talk about the game and discuss issues that arise on the pitch.

I am dismayed by the behaviour of people supposed to be supporters of the game - very little knowledge of the game, no desire to gain that knowledge, underage and drinking to the point that they are brave enough to abuse the opposition (and their own) supporters (from a safe distance!)

I know loads of supporters just like me, not just from Warrington.

Are you a typical Wigan fan?
Well said. icon_thumb.gif

Well said Milly, it's idiots like the one you just put in his place and Dei Morti Veventi who constantly call us. On the other hand, these few clowns who give us a bad name need putting in their place.

I'm not sure if you're talking to me.

But I wasn't trying to make these annoying teenagers out to be "glory hunters", I think they are a worse minority of our fan base which seems to have no interest in rugby WHAT SO EVER (glory or no glory) and just enjoy being drunk and yobbish.

I have never been sure what the club coach alcohol policy is. I always thought it was banned but time and time again I see people (young and old) bringing all kinds of alcohol on board.

I didn't tell anyone because when I first saw the alcohol they weren't doing anything to cause concern and I'm not one to "snitch" when people seem ultimately harmless. In hindsight you are correct, the best option would be for myself or somebody else to have alerted the driver.

Yes everytime i've gone on the coach it's been made clear that no alcohol is permitted.

Who makes it clear?

I have never had this pointed out to me by anyone in the club shop when I buy tickets.

Also, almost at every single away game I take a few bottles of water in a carrier bag. I have never ever been asked what I have within my carrier bag by anybody, not even the person from the club who collects coach tickets as you get on.

I could easily have been taking on 3-4 small bottles of Vodka.

Quote: Matt King's Barber "Two lads who looked between 15 and 17 accompanied by three lads about looked about 13 or 14. All swigging from a fairly large bottle of Smirnoff.

Chanting with every other word being f**k or c**t, and then accusing people of being "boring" for not joining in with him.

After his FOURTH request for me to shake his hand I put the little tart in his place and for the rest of the journey I didn't hear a peep. Then when we arrived at Tescos him and his mates were the first people to dart off the coach.

Justice.'"

Well done mate. if they had alcohol report them to the club (just explain how many in the group etc). Alcohol is banend on the club coaches and this may end up being the last club coach these idiots end up going on.

Thanks pal, I was in two minds about doing it because I was worried I'd get called "boring" etc but the response on here has been great.

Just a question mate, was there anybody from the club on the coach. Ive experienced that there tend sto be more "problems" with the coaches when its basically just the driver "in charge". All they care about is getting the bus back to the depot and then home ASAP.

Pretty sure there was nobody from the club on the coach, although I can't swear to it.

I agree with you there, when the coach has people from the club on it order is usually maintained.

ALTHOUGH.

Coming home from Wigan away last year two drunk adults were screaming and swearing whilst both heavily drunk. The lady who is usually on coach one who collects tickets for the club (pretty sure her name is Barbara) told them to stop and they just started chanting at her, abusing her and telling her to "f**k off". Horrible scenes.

I presume these may have been a part of the chav brigade at the back who at away games start chanting Jason Chan's name for some reason...

Probably the same pond life who were chanting "S##t Helens, S##t Helens" when their U18s scored the winning try against Leeds in the curtain raiser to the main game.
For god's sake, these are young lads making their way in the game. Maybe if Saints U18s had been playing Wire 18s could some chanting be appropriate but this was nothing to do with Wire.

This game is being taken over by an ever growing minority that I really fear will explode one day soon.

Couldn't agree with you more. I went to Harlequins a couple of weeks ago and some of the Warrington fans there were an embarrassment. I'm in my 20s and like a drink and a laugh as much as the next person, but there is an ever growing element attached to the club that make me ashamed.
Swearing & chanting at away fans walking past them, lads grabbing girls as they walked past, and even one classy looking boiler flashing her boobs when there were young children around!

My boyfriend has nieces and nephews from 5 to 10 years old who have never been to a rugby game but are desperate to come with us and I won't take them because of idiots like this. I've noticed it getting worse this year particularly for some reason, don't think there is anything that can be done about it though to be honest.
