I'm just not bigging it up.
There was an opportunity for a proper series, to take the concept seriously, and the RFL failed.
It's more than a watered down series...it's not a series at all. None of the three matches are connected in anyway. The only things that holds them together is that fact that all the three games involve club teams from either side of the globe playing on the same weekend.
Yet still I am compelled to watch my team play in it.'"
But you are knocking it at every opportunity but then contradict yourself constantly

| Irish my pal, I'm not knocking it.
The terms friendly or exhibition game doesn't really fit right about the stature and uniqueness or the match up, that I agree but unfortunately that is all it is since the the opportunity to make it a proper series was missed.
That isn't wholly the fault of the club's involved or us as fans, I rest that solely at the RFL.
If Knocking the RFL is what some perceive as knocking the concept, then I hold my hands up and apologise.

I don't think the club could have promoted the game much more than they have to be honest. Ticket prices aren't unreasonable either.

| Moan moan moan. Fact is regardless of what the rfl have dropped the ball on (when don't they?) we get to play an Aussie side and that doesn't happen to often. I'll be very proud if we win and imagine if we are the only British team out of the 3 to come out on top, we wouldn't half be able to wind up the Stains and Pies with that little Cherry. You'll notice I said IF before anyone jumps on me.

| I'm not moaning.
I'll be thrilled at the win and I'm confident we will, I also think Stains and Pies will both lose there games.
We are imo better than our neighbours and have the easiest if the 3 Ozzy teams.
I will be betting that as a treble too.

To be fair - the only team with any bragging rights will be Saints, as Champions against the NRL Champions. Wigan and Wire are up against the 8th and 11th best NRL teams in what are glorified and essentially meaningless friendlies.
Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to seeing all three games live immensely, and they will be competitive, I hope, but I'm not kidding myself that the results mean anything (other than Saints v Rabbitohs)

Fair comment, but, if we want this series to take off and possibly develop into something more meaningful, something that would attract sponsors and prize money and therefore a reason for everyone to take it seriously and desire to be in it, then we need convincing crowds and on field performances in all the games.
Unlike some others, I hope that all the SL teams win, bragging rights apart, longer term it must be good for the game?

Maybe not. In that case the attendance will be what it will be and a true reflection of the appetite.

Yes I agree with you. I am going to all three because I love watching high quality Rugby League, regardless of who is playing. I am hoping for some competitive games so that the media report it and the Aussies will want to repeat it in future.
I do hope that Wire sell out. The tickets I purchased via the club were very reasonable and with the game taking place on a Friday there are really no excuses. The World Cup games between Samoa/NZ & Fiji/Samoa were great events and hopefully this is too.

We constantly hear how the NRL wooden spoonists could easily beat the SL Champions. There are bragging rights at stake for all of us as SLE fans.

As I'm a Roosters fan, I'm in a bit of a quandary here. I don't want Saints to win, but yet I certainly don't want the Rabbitohs to win either.

I understand your dilemma Pal, but think back to all those defeats they gave us and how much each one of them hurt.
Also its that St Helens lot who started that God awful 'Its always your year' song they deserve to be disliked for that alone.
Last season even Salford fans were singing it to us & it all stemmed from that lot from Langtree Park.
