If anyone can man manage a player through this type of thing then I imagine it is Tony Smith but it'll take a big effort for Richie to raise his game in the playoffs now IMO. And that isn't a criticism of Myler.

Crusaders away when he rested Morley. The scoreline might have been high, but in the first half we were really sub standard. At this rate resting players looks likey to have cost us second place on points difference.

Im with you Yed, Myler brings much more to the team than Higham does so i think it is the wrong call. Im sure he has his reasons for Myler not playing but Myler is the only person who will run into a gap like against Hull on friday. Also when we make a break 9/10 times Myler will be in support so we will miss that tomorrow.

As an alternative view I might point out the health and fitness of our squad the weekend of the Challenge Cup Final and two weeks before the players commence is such that Smith has to make decisions such as not picking Richie Myler. Perhaps the resting of players, who may well have been struggling through matches with niggling injuries, might have put us a good position to push for trophies on two fronts.

That was Darryl Powell. Smith's worst call for us (in the eyes of many) was picking a patently-unfit Senior in the final against Hull.

Where he also went with a propless bench of McGuire, Dunnemann, Poching, Jones-Buchanan, with Barrie Mac out of the 17 because Smith had to play his eccentric power-games. Leeds lost, btw.
