Defo take Chambers even at 32.

Would be a very good signing and a big upgrade on Gelling. The type of player we should be in for and trying to sign.

Looks as though the Gelling signing will be announced very soon.

Be interesting to see if Livett and Patton are here next year, wouldn’t bother me to much if either of them left/went on loan next season.

Livetts off to Hull KR on a season long loan, and i can't see us getting rid of Patton. We have no real back up in the halves if he left, and if Widdop or Austin gets injured you have to re-shuffle the pack. I'm Interested to see how Gelling go for us next year, and i'm very hyped up hoping i'll be buzzing with whatever Prop we announce. But for 3-4 years now we've dropped the ball with Prop signings so i'm not holding out for a mega star

Who would you rather have as back up half - Patton or an experienced SL, Lance Todd Trophy winning and Dream Team half back Smith ?

Is this a joke, smith has been Awful for us and Patton has out played him. I'd actually have Patton.
saints didn't play Smith, Catalans didn't play him and i've seen why now and i was excited when we signed him on loan.

I think it's a bit harsh to judge him having joined an awful side with a few games to go. I imagine he would be better with a full pre-season learning our attacking move (singular).

No whatever he had has now gone. You could see it at Saints, couldn’t get in Catalans side and has been invisible since arriving with us. He is not an improvement on Patton, in fact quite the reverse.

It's a real shame for matty Smith, I rated him quite highly as a player up until only a couple of seasons ago, but it all seems to have fizzled out dramatically.

That's a shame if true. I still think there is a good player in there somewhere. When he first burst onto the scene I thought he looked a real talent. He doesn't seem to have had many chances since and / or kicked on.

1. Is that a problem with our coaching team who can't develop further the skills and roles of young talent ?
2. Is it an issue with the player not putting in the hard graft ?
3. Do we have a surplus of talent in his role and can afford to only keep the best whoever they may be ?

If he does go to HKR with TS in the hot seat that's interesting if potentially a bit depressing as TS was in charge when he came through and must see something in him. Either that or he is cheap and HKR are skint

I suppose that it is these types of decisions our coaching staff are paid to manage but sometimes you wonder how interesting it would be to be a fly on the appropriate wall
