| Does he organise, yes...does he march his forwards round the pitch, i think he does. Is he Marquee? Is he balls. A Marquee signing that hasn't had one MOM this season is quite frankly a shambles. At points i think he looks disinterested and its obvious he wants out. That's just my view and i am happy to be proved wrong. I have defended him most of the year but that is starting to wear thin now....If we wanted a decent distributor of a ball, a steady half back we could of spent half the money and got someone like, say, Jacob Millar. Roberts is marquee, and he just isn't cutting the title, which i think grates the fans most. Its not just because we have lost this week, its been going on for weeks, i think it is just more prevalent when we do lose.
More worryingly i think Mr Price took exception to him ting out of diving on a couple of loose balls on Saturday. To the point where Mr Price has told all the players (but clearly directed it at certain ones) that it is not good enough for this 'footie' club and a disgrace to the shirt (2nd half). Compiled with a few mutterings from players after who can clearly also see he isn't interested. How true this is, i am unsure, but what i hear is never far off the mark.
Lets see what the reaction is on Friday......

Interesting insight and I am glad the 22-0 2nd half has been acted on. It wasn't good enough.
As for Roberts you are exactly right, we rightly expect more for a Marquee signing.

| Can we send him back spend on a tough prop and ask Mr Sandow if he fancies a game or two?

No thanks, think I'd rather have Matty Smith.

| While Hull are without their 1st choice spine of backs, what's the odds Roberts looks outstanding against nobodies for his 1st mom nomination?

| but what can Roberts hope to achieve by being disinterested.....?
He was going to be a back up halfback for the Gold Coast Titans for Christ's sake, they finished 2nd bottom last year.
his career has largely been at the bottom of the NRL table, having the honour of securing a wooden spoon with Newcastle. This is not a top quality player with any semblance of pedigree.
He is not Ben Barba with a list of clubs waiting to sign him upon his return to Australia.
This is not a player romping games single-handedly winning silver salver by the box load.
By being a disinterested bottom feeder the best he can expect is becoming a quick fix for a crap NRL club that has some bad long term injuries to half backs, pre or early season.
By playing out a couple of seasons for us costing us games and showing very limited ability it's likely he'll end up alongside Chris Sandow or Todd Carney.
If he has told the club he doesn't like it over here, because its too Cold and he misses his extended Family, (which is fair enough btw) then why not play your balls off while the club look for a replacement??
its the least you could do if they allow you the very good opportunity to leave at the end of the year mid contract.
Brown and Ratch in the Halves and get the Morris Twins signed......

That is pretty much it. It's hard to give you an argument.
My thoughts are he may look better this weekend...well he'd better, as Hull are playing without much of their spine.
Shirley he must be nursing that old injury.

| Would we have faired better or worse by sticking with Dec as Brown's partner and using the cash for others?

| I've just had a quick count through the last few pages on people's criticisms of him. Apart from a couple of thoughts on him being disinterested or not winning enough MOM's - the general consensus seems to be -
x3
Doesn't take the line on / issues with his running game
x5
The money he's on / the marquee tag
For me personally - the money doesn't matter. We're a rich club - players on big money doesn't harm us. He's only taking up 150k of cap space whatever we pay him. It's not as if he's preventing us from signing any other top players. We'd previously attempted to get Barba, Williams, Tomkins, and several more (if you believe the rumours) and failed, even though we threw silly money at them. It's not as if Inglis has been clamouring to play for us, but we had to turn him away because Roberts was taking up the marquee spot.
The "magic" NRL players we've signed recently, such as Hiku and Sandow, have been and gone in the blink of an eye - they're too good for us and jumped ship at first opportunity.
