If he goes to HKR in 2016 he will not need to go on loan - his contract expires in 2015.

So, in the current situation, he can only be displaced this season.

| Your original post asked " who will displace Myler". Not 'this year' or 'in the current climate'. If Patton continues to develop whilst Myler fails to fulfil his potential, then I think he could be our SH. He doesn't have the powerful running of Myler, but he does have all aspects of the kicking game. It is almost certain Patton will play in the pre-season friendlies and should make his debut in the first team. However as I said, I think he will play most of 2015 away from the HJ.

If Myler isn't here next season, as his current contract situation implies; how can he be displaced?

| If Smith doesn't think Myler is up to it after this coming seasons performance, he will not renew his contract, and he will be displaced by someone else in the squad or an outside signing. Carvel was in the same situation last year, his contract was not renewed and he was displaced by (god forbid) Roy Asotasi.
What is the issue ?

He won't be displaced, he will be replaced.
PS
There is no issue. For Myler to want regular first team rugby, which will be easier to obtain at HKR (according to Budgie Smuggler or whatever their name is) implies that someone is in Myler's way. Who is that person, that is displacing last season's first choice scrum half?

| I think O'Brien and Bridge could be a good combo, Bridge played well their last year and he'd have more of an organiser in O'Brien than playing with Ratch.

| Quote: Teessidewire "What a load of rubbish. The rumour has re-surfaced because you've just done it. With 13 new players and an untested coach, no-one in their right mind would want to go to HKR. They've signed 2 new halfbacks alreay. 15 pages of absolute drivel that hasn't got anywhere.'"
It would seem 13 players have decided they wanted to go to HKR

Which is exactly why I said that. Just to clarify, 13 new signings and an untested coach is far too much change, no-one with any real ambition would want to go to HKR at the moment.
The 2 Hull Clubs seem to do the same thing every year, clear the decks, followed by another load of new signings. Myler would be daft to go there.

| Not saying its happening but if he's slipped down the pecking order at wire it's not daft to go somewhere on loan to see out his last year and be pretty much guaranteed to play every week before becoming a free agent and having a choice of where he ends up.
It would show a spectacular lack of ambition to sit up in the stands most weeks and just bank his pay.

Who is in front of him in the pecking order?

Who says that he's slipped down the pecking order? He finished the season in the side and as far as I know no-one else was injured. people are also very good at ignoring the fact that he had two serious injuries last season.
