Apart from the last game he played, Matty has filled in well.
His limitations were known before we signed him, as were his strengths.
I've no complaints with his re-signing, and 2nd time round he has been a much more rounded player.
His loan to Leeds helps him and us.
He's unlikely to get a new contract at Wire, so it's good he has a chance to put his capabilities - good and bad - on show.

Tbh that penalty for the pass off the ground cum pass after held had been called could easily have been "go back & play the ball ". A lot depends on how refs interpret rules on the day.

If there has been an issue recently. then maybe we have loaned him out which gives him a chance of a new contract somewhere else, rather than sacking him which would have limited his opportunities?

It's a shame to see a 30 year old player moving about on loan. Probably would be better with a real contract at a decent Championship club.
