| Quote: Barbed Wire "In Holmes’ defence, picked out of position, made 63 tackles. Yes, missed a couple of crucial tackles, but you could argue he was out on his feet long before the first Wigan try and should have been subbed off.
He’s not a good player, horribly out of form and confidence. But that can only be exasperated by being picked one week, dropped to the bench the next and then thrown in out of position after that.
Amor was the safer bet for Wigan away, but no sign of him. Is he injured or on the naughty step?'"
Good post this.

| We took Longstaff from the Wigan Academy back in 2018 and he has always been something of an eye catcher. If there is a break on then you will invariably find him on the shoulder of the ball carrier, if there is a kick through or a loose ball in the opposition in goal area then he will be a yard or two away. He has got both the speed and eye for the game to constantly put himself in a try scoring position. And he does score a lot of tries. But you don't see him making too many crunching tackles and if you get through a lot of the 'dirty work' you don't have the stamina to support breaks and follow up kick throughs. If you pair him with Currie in the BR then you have two fairly similar types of players because I have always thought of Currie to be half back, half forward. For me, that simply wouldn't work, Currie needs a quality work horse to get stuck into the opposition both with and without the ball.
It might not be too popular to say on here, but I think farming Longstaff out to Hull was a good move. He is assured regular first team games and has the opportunity to develop the other aspects of his game such as making the hard yards with the ball and his defence. He needs to be a more rounded player in order to cement a place in most SL sides ( I nearly said in a top four side haha).

Completely logical and informed opinion here. However, this doesn’t appear to be the logic of the coach. Nicholson has been brought in and player although his defence isn’t particularly strong, including critical miss on our try line this week. That’s akin to the Longstaff miss away at Hull which saw him exiled.

Easy solution, don't pair him with currie! Currie should no longer be in our first team based on what he's dished up this season.

Sadly can’t do it anymore, physically broken. Taken so much hammer since 19/20 he’s now the oldest 30 year old in the world

To be fair to Clark, he's nowhere near his usual high standards(I'd still put him our top 3 or 4 performers this season), but its mainly down to price continually playing him when he clearly wasn't fit.

Clarke is a different player with a big drive, fast ruck and retreating defenders. That's his one trick and he's good at it.

That was Roby’s one trick earlier on in his career. Unlike Clarke, he developed his all round game and became highly influential and one of the main drivers of his team’s performance. In my view, Clarke’s all round game just hasn’t developed, in a similar way that Micky Higham’s didn’t. They both suffer/suffered from tunnel vision around the ruck and are too reliant on a quick play the ball.

| Clark isn't playing well because the whole team isn't playing well and he's not a 1 man team.
Same as Holmes is playing NOTHING like he has done consistantly at Castleford.
The whole team is disjointed and not playing well together and everyone is out of form.
Next year will be a different story and we're gonna be destroying teams, i genuinely believe that. If and a big IF we beat Toulose then i think we'll beat relegation but if we lose i think we're goosed.

If we lose to Toulouse, Powell and Sheridan will be shown the door.
It wouldn`t surprise me, if there was a miraculous change in form of our under achievers, with Marshall and Tyke in temporary charge.

They should be, if the can't pick up a single point since magic given who we have played in that time and after this week that would then include the bottom club (at home), then they aren't likely to pick up points in the remaining games either. It's not line with are inconsistent, we have been consistently bad under their charge.

Then we give Marshall a 3 year contract.
