| Quote: Uncle Rico "I think it's a bit unfair saying that picking Mamo is conservative it's important that we get off to a strong start so pick your best team there'll be plenty of time and opportunities for the squad to kick in.
Whilst he might be behind King and Inglis in the Centre, Ratchord and Ashton at FB and Lineham and Charnley out wide, he can play in all three positions. I thought he was quick but a bit 'flakey' (based on limited viewing) when at Huddersfield, but he did well last year and I enjoyed watching him, a bit of a character.'"
Fair enough. I think I meant he knows what he can get from Mamo whereas Wrench is very inexperienced and a bit of a moving feast. Yes, I think Mamo did well last year and his speed is a big advantage particularly in the last quarter. Price made it sound as though he had a really tough choice between the two but I suspect he had already made his mind up before the Leigh game as to who he would pick.

Based on last season I’m surprised he is still here.

| No matter what he does, unless we have a major injury crisis, we won't see Sita playing this year.
Ratch, Charnley, Mamo, King, Tommy, Austin, Widdop, Hill, Daryl, Coops, Currie, Hughes, Philbin, Subs J.Clark, Ashton, Mulhern, Walker. Miss out - Butler (unlucky), Robson (unlucky), Wrench, Thewlis.
Personally I'd start with JC at 13 and Joe on the bench.

| According to Sky News on the SL round up, we had doubts over Cooper and Hughes.

Based on what I've seen for the last couple of years, I've got major doubts on Jason Clark....and it's not injuries

| Quote: Winslade's Offload "I think Robson could certainly do a job at 13. I think him and Thewliss are getting pretty close to SL standard. Clark doesn't really take the ball up whereas Robson will have a go so he certainly adds more than Clark's defensive contribution. But Robson missed a tackle in the Leigh match that led to the Brierly try and that will not have been lost on Price, so I can't see him squeezing Clark out of his spot yet.'"
I'm not sure about robson, I haven't seen anything other than steady. He looks very much like Jason Clark to me but I can't for sure say he has the same defensive attributes despite having the same limited attacking impact. Thewlis on the other ha d
comes in to the side when we have injuries and does brilliantly. He's a serious talent IMO but I feel robson has a long way to go to prove his credentials.

Don’t hang the lad out to dry yet .He come off the bench twice last year at prop, a position he hadn’t played. He started against salford and if you remember hit a line to go through to score but it was ruled forward . Last Friday Leigh attacked down Warringtons right edge and Warrington always went left to attack so if you don’t get any ball and defend all game what can he do.I think he will be a great player with more games under his belt . Doro , thewlis ,Robson, etc all need a run of games then it will prove if they are good enough .

| The Warrington Guardian seem to have joined us in picking / predicting the likely team. They have been a bit more adventurous in going for Wrench at centre in preference to Mamo, and have Robson on the bench instead of Ashton. They also switched Clark and Philbin between the bench with Philbin starting.

| Hope when Inglis does play his performances are better than on the Sky game. Sounded like he knew nothing about our comp. Looked like he had been introduced to the pies as well and I don't mean Wigan.

To be clear, I'm not saying he won't be a good player I just haven't seen anything yet that has made me take note. Saw it early with Toby King and Grix and I see Dean and Thewlis the same. Ultimately I don't understand the calls for robson to be in at this stage, his chance will come and if he takes it (which I hope he does) then he moves closer to his spot and that's the way it should be for me. Same goes with doro, not seen anything special yet but that doesn't mean I won't. Not writing anyone off at this stage.

| I think it will be:
Ratchford
Lineham
King
Mamo
Charnley
Austin
Widdop
Hill
Clark
Cooper
Currie
Hughes
Philbin
Clark
Mulhern
Ashton
Butler
Conservative enough for our Steve.

He certainly didn't look fit and he's saying that round 2 will be too soon. Maybe round 3 but definitely round 4, that's another 3 to 4 weeks. I thought that he'd been 'getting back into shape' since he signed. Hopefully Mr Gardner has now dissabled the Just Eat app on GI's phone.

Your comparing a young lad with two bench spot games at prop and one start against salford at second row with a nrl veteran who has won it all with south’s ? . The two lads young lads you have mentioned are as you rightly say fantastic talents but to say a young forward is limited in attack after one full super league game I’m not sure .

Didn't Price play Matty Ashton at fullback in the Challenge Cup semi final rather than Ratchford, a decision which was held on here to be responsible for us losing. Maybe we need a bit more playing it safe rather than gambling on young guys.

| I was trying to guess the side Price will pick rather than express a preference. But for the record, with it being the first game of the season and the fact Wrench has only one SL appearance to his name, I too would have gone for Mamo. I would also have Ashton on the bench rather than Robson as he provides a good attacking option in the second half, plus good cover for the wings and Ratchford. If we get a Championship side in the CC then he could slip in 2-3 of the younger players in what will be only the third game of the season.
