Well I care about it. In incredibly difficult circumstances SL, the RFL and the clubs have managed to provide a meaningful competition with some great rugby played. They are giving their best shot at proving to Sky that the sport can attract viewers in numbers. Extending the play-offs will mean more matches that really matter, and fewer dead rubbers, which many posters on here doubted the value of previously. It is a long way from perfect, but they deserve praise, and I am grateful for having some RL to watch when I was lamenting the cancellation of the Kangaroo tour which would have been happening around now.

It would be a bit of blow to end up with an additional play off game.

My thoughts exactly. I don't agree that this year's title will be somehow less valid. Obviously there have been a lot of unique difficulties this year, but ultimately, there have been qualifying rounds, there will be play-offs and there will be a champion, same as ever. Hopefully it will be Wire!

Explaining this to my family - I made an appropriate Spoonerism as I referred to it as:

"The Super League play-offs this year have changed, it's now a knock off format..."

Well it looks like we will finish 3rd then and have to play next week but will at least be rested this week. I. Hope they count a game this week against linehams ban whilst it's a joke ban anyway. I think it's fair enough what they've done in expanding the playoffs, although I think it should have been 5 teams. Leeds v Catalans as a shootout to decide the last position whilst there was nobody else in contention to make top 4 and then run the playoffs as scheduled. Nevermind.

As I've said in a post before, let's just get on with it, it could have been us in top spot with a pies victory.

Its odd that they're not making Catalan & Saints play, since that could affect the 4th & 5th placings - academic in terms of play-off, as 4 plays 5, but maybe impacts on any finishing place money/bonus.

I guess it suits Saints, but don't know if there's been any official announcement/explaination as to why that game isn't going ahead.

Seems like they're now saying it's because of Covid and international travel....

Think some of you are forgetting if Wigan get beat by the Giants we will go 2nd, this game is important for the Giants as it will guarantee 7th which is the standby team for the play offs.

Can see why you all don't agree with my comment but we all know that only the fans of the team that wins it will rate it.

It'll be a win with an asterix next to it. Plus I would quite like to be there in person to see our first win. I also want our win to be after a full interrupted season where no one can question whether we deserve it or not.

Seems that Salford v Wakey is a dead rubber now after Salford's win deduction for financial irregularities.
