Last years Challenge cup final, the class and dignity McManus and their fans displayed after was to be expected.

Not Wire games, and ones that I only watched on TV but three Great Britain v Australia games have stayed in my mind as absolute classics: Melbourne in 1992; Wembley 1992 (World Cup final) and Wembley 1994 when Edwards got sent off and we won with 12 men, Jonathan Davies outpacing Mullins to score in the corner. Davies played for Wire at the time and was at his peak and that try was probably my favourite all time moment in RL history.

Leeds play off was special along with the limbs when briers knocked over the drop goal.

You do forget subtle little gems of the game: Getting off to 18pt start, the hudds disallowed tries, MM having a blinder out of dummy half, PJ’s coming off the bench & tackling everything, Briers orchestrates us around the field brilliantly, Tyke at the age of 21 playing his third game of first team rugby, Westwood & Landerson being absolute monsters at second row, Morley flying in like a man possessed!
