You can't scrap a season. Would be a legal minefield.

But, depending on the length of any postponement period, it might be unfesible to play all the games, prior to 31 October (which is, I think, when the majority of RL players contracts would expire, unless on longer term deals). So you can't really run games if playing squads are disrupted outside the normal running of the regular season.

This is gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better, we got back from teneriffe yesterday and the airport was chaos , mates over there now and the whole place is in lockdown, no pubs or bars open and the chemists and supermarkets are only letting limited numbers in at a time.'"
I was in the airport Saturday as well....luckily our Ryanair flight left........it was chaos.

Left Malaga Airport on Friday by Ryan Air - was like a ghost town.

I was referring more to football with the Sky Sports mention. With us only being 5 games in RL would be okay but could you imagine the law suits if the PL and FA were to void English football this season.

Super League is finished in its present guise.
Maurice Lindsey will finally get his wish and a global franchise format will rise from the ashes of this virus.. our traditional clubs will simply be at an amateur level.
No way can any current club survive 12-18 months of inactivity.

| It's going to be very difficult for a lot of businesses and sport will be hit hard.
But there will be a world after coronavirus and if there's a market for rugby league there will be a market for a professional game. There will still be stadiums and players who know how to play rugby league.
There may be fewer clubs though as some may go out of business, and then be restarted as amateur teams by long standing fans wanting to keep the name alive.
The sport would be more vulnerable to the whims of a large scale investor - so if someone with money wanted to come with a big new idea and merge clubs that could be back on the agenda. We might have seen the last Warrington Wolves game and could be watching the Wire-Widnes Cheshire Cats in 2022.
Then when Saints fans say what have you ever won apart from the Challenge Cup we can say, World Champions 1989 so have some of that.

| I command super league as being.one of the last sports. If not last sport to suspend its league and suspend its sport.
Does not take away my thoughts that it's the flu. Nothing more and nothing less. We have far more deaths from things like cancer or something yea. A bit more serious. But you get people dieing from the common cold more than we have with this flu.
Its basically scare tactics from everyone. Social media. The news. The governments and people in general. We didnt have this moluch crap with the sars virus. Everything carried on as normal. And we got through that.
The people who have does have been people who are over 60nsnd have underlying health conditions. Take care of the old yea. But for god sake. Dont shut the country down and shut the world down because of the flu and this flu virus.

I've read quite a few articles on this virus, from all sides of the debate, and yes, there are people who disagree on the severity of it all - This post though totally wins the argument...
What more can be added to this??

| Believe in what you want but if it was purely scaremongering from everyone involved, including Governments then I just don't get it.
Forget about measuring the severity of this situation by how many people may or may not die from it and ask yourself what purpose would it serve locking the entire commercial world down? There doesn't seem to be an upside for anyone, businesses going bust, people out of work/working short hours potential shortages of commodities, a meltdown on share prices, pensions and investments.....the disruption and cost is massive.
If no one wins why would they all take part for just the flu?

Restaurants won't be busy. Anybody going out now, whether to a pub or restaurant, is being irresponsible.
And any grandma who chooses to go out with their kids and grandkids, or to voluntarily come into contact with them, probably deserves to catch the virus and to suffer it's worst.
