It is not within the bounds of possibility that the appearance at Saints was not officially sanctioned by the club board and that the brand of the club and sponsors was deemed to have been damaged.

But of course it may be the two events are entirely unrelated.

You must admit the timing is odd. If the CEO wishes to take Wolfie in a "new direction" then perhaps the off season was the better time to make the switch quietly rather than 1 game into the season and causing a disgruntled Wolf.

Graeme has clarified in a subsequent FB comment that it was nothing to do with the Saints game. But like a lot of things on social media, was buried amongst the fake outrage.

I've also heard (unconfirmed) that it wasn't even him in the costume at the Saints game.
