| waiting for Tony's best 17 to actually take the field is a bad judgement........too many eggs in one basket... Rugby league is one of the hardest and most physical sports played, there will always be injuries7and great coaches know this and have a squad of decent players outside the top 17 to call upon. It's not your best 17 that matter it's the next 6-7 players that will replace them what is important as Wigan found out last year. We never had the top 17 take the field once last year and over the 36 games played they appeared only 383 times out of a total of 612 times. That's over 6 of the starting 17 missing every game, If Tony is waiting for his "Luck" to change he could be waiting for a very long time.

Hang on biscuit, you know the rules.
No one is allowed to say these things unless they can offer a credible alternative.

| It certainly make the St Helens v Wire game interesting coming up in the next couple of weeks...Both coaches coming out with strange comments,,the similairities between the two regarding the season so far.....Might be a game that whoever loses will be out of a job...

If i was Moran i would be trying to get him NOW before Leeds or Saints pounce.

Wishful thinking, sadly. Just like with Briers, there is clearly no succession planning in place. My biggest fear is the inevitable disaster that is Briers taking over.

MD "rules" "no one is allowed to say these things"? There is plenty of stuff debated on here and I wasn't aware that opinion was being stifled by "rules". I think that it's a fairly open arena people are allowed to disagree no one has been shouted down as far as I can see

"It's the refs fault again". Biggest moaning whingers in RL.: |
|
| While you've started the season poorly, some of the abuse Smith is coming in for is well over the top.
Calling him a 'cretin', plus other insulting stuff, sums up just how classless Dire fans really are.
You're not a Big Club, but look at the success TS has brought to Warrington over the last 8 years. You were nowhere near this before he took over, last winning anything way back in 1991 (the hugely 'prestigious' Regal Trophy).
You may not rate him as a coach anymore, but some of the stuff being dished out to him is bang out of order.

Yes, it wasn't meant to be taken seriously.

If Paul Cullen was that good then why couldn't he get these teams of his to win anything or at least break into the top four on a regular basis?
Cullen had the financial backing, he had the players and perhaps a better pool of players to choose from when it came to signings, so why couldn't he deliver any type of moderate success?
Many fans want Smith out, fair enough, but why do we constantly need to devalue what he and our club has achieved during his tenure? He took us to a level that Cullen couldn't, he may not take us to a Grand Final victory, his time may be up, but bloody hell the bloke deserves more respect than some are giving him.

| Let's see...
Cullen took us from bottom to breaking through to the upper middle.
I hope we see that over the next few weeks.

And couldn't take us any further, Tony Smith did. Tony Smith took a grossly under performing squad to the next level and win our first silverware for decades. If he's to take us no further then all well and good, let's move on and move forward with someone else. Paul Cullen perhaps considering he was that good first time around.
