| Id be interested to know the average age of the posters on this board. Sundays might suit folk who are retired or no longer want to go out before and after for a few scoops but Friday nights and Saturdays are the way forward for getting people and new support through the turnstiles.
if you were thinking about going to a wire game and getting into the game what for the first time, would attract you the most?
A) A Friday night under floodlights. Good atmosphere, start of the weekend and a bit of a social with your mates on the ale before and after with no worries about work in the morning.
B) A Saturday afternoon/Evening. Get into town earlyish. enjoy a drink and some food, a good buzz around the pubs. oppositions fans get to the game earlier and do the same. Good craic to be had by all.
C) A Sunday afternoon with 0 atmosphere, low crowds because non season ticket holders cant be d spending 2 hours stood watching Huddersfield or wakey who brought their traveling support on a minibus. Oh and work in the morning.
Friday all day for me. I don't mind Saturday evening but Saturday afternoons are daft with open age amateur games kicking off at 2pm.

| Clashing with amateur rugby on a Saturday afternoon is just about as daft a decision as you can imagine

| Those Saturday evening games were always my favourite. Catalans are lucky buggers!
6pm KO would give the local game enough time to be finished and at the game

| Friday night games are the best for me, I used to like Saturday night matches too when they were the superleagues allocated sky slot. I don't like Thursday matches or Sunday matches due to working the next day, nothing to do with ale I just feel that my mind is usually elsewhere, I don't even enjoy watching Thursday matches on sky the same as a Friday match.

| I travel from Coventry to Wigan, have done for the last 25+ years and even though Friday afternoon/evening is absolute crap on the M6 usually 3+ hours to do 100 miles I still prefer Friday night games to any other....only problem I have is Hull away on a Friday, have to book 1/2 days holiday to make kick off....

| What is the saving on a South Stand Season Ticket for a season compared to PAYG for each game. I don't think you need to miss many to be better off PAYG.

Assuming you finish top 4 and have 4 home play off games you're looking at about £80(ish) I think. that's just using some quick maths and rounded numbers so take it with a pinch of salt.

This sound like something the off the Warrington casuals Facebook page..
I'm 41 and I favour Sunday's.. I'm not a washed up retired bloke who should be cast aside in favour of someone who prefers to finish work, get straight on the drink and spend the whole of the game (Friday night as some prefer) walking back and forth to the bar for the entire game.. Then leave the match and get on the jagerbombs and spend Saturday lay in my pit..
As it goes I do enjoy a few scoops before and after the game and yes I have got work on a Monday morning but I'm able to drink in moderation and first and foremost I go to watch the rugby not go on a pi$$ up..
One more thing this myth about the atmosphere being poor on a Sunday makes me laugh..in my time watching Wire I've been to plenty of night games with poor atmospheres and plenty Sunday's with brilliant atmospheres ... The fact is we never play the top teams on a Sunday now and that's why the atmosphere is muted.. Not because of the time of day ..
Tony Smith doesn't like Sunday's just like he doesn't like playing wingers on the wing..

I like Friday and Saturday games, they aren't a problem for me as my job permits it, but I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Put Pie/Stains on a Sunday afternoon rather than a Thursday, the fans will come and the atmosphere will follow.
Look on the bright side, at least the Monday night rugby idea was abandoned. I'm sure we had a Monday night game against Wigan 2 or 3 years ago that was close to a sell out.

Because top teams don't want to play on a sunday. they want to play on Thursdays and Fridays and Saturdays because they get coverage and mentioned on television or are on shown on sky. Sundays are a thing of the past. It's a day for junior rugby and small clubs in Yorkshire who don't mind playing in front of crowds of 1000 max and have a tombola as half time entertainment.

"Top teams" do you mean the players or the club ?. As far as the club is concerned they will wan't to play on the day that they get most spectators, and that is not a Thursday night. We probably get around 1-1,500 fewer spectators which equates to (£20 x 1500) = £30k less revenue - plus spend on progs., food and drink. The reason we play on Thursday night is because our paymaster is Sky and they need to fill their TV slot.

Is there a remuneration fee from Sky, that is paid to the home club, for a live RL game broadcast by them?

Albeit it's the clubs that decided to take the Sky deal, they aren't blameless in generating this situation.

Which option can I take without having to rush around straight from work.
Which option can I take my kids too.
Which option can I enjoy some midday sun on my face.
Which option can I sit in a beer garden putting the Rugby league world or world in general to right. .... pre and post game. ...
But most importantly which game means I don't have to spend afternoon tea at the in laws. .....
Sunday. ......RIP sadly missed. .....
I was 12 when I first attended a wire game and was hooked since that day, quite how fitting it in with getting faced would make the game more appealing is totally alien to me........

Stopping drinking ale and watching rugby for 2 hrs on a Friday or Saturday directly interrupts me getting faced. I'd much rather have it on Sunday following a large amount of pig and eggs and some quiet reflection.
