I don't understand what people have against Atkins. He mades the 2016 Dream Team scoring 17 tries this season.

| If we could bring in a top, top quality centre I would be prepared to lose Atkins, Penny and Evans to get him. Toby King could be his partner.

| Ratchford is one of SL finest players.
I've said it more times than I wish to count.
You must always play him in a position he can get his hands on the ball.
He will play 6 when Gids and Sandow go so why feck him about?!
TS took a decision to play Gids at 6 coz of Ratchford injury. I think balance of the team might have come good had TS put them back into shirt position as soon as he returned. We got a few wins against poorer opposition and everyone thinks the team is right!

And Russell should either play fullback or be left out of the team.
We will struggle if we don't sign another second row, centre and hooker.'"
Why have we given Ben Harrison a testimonial for 2017 if he's already left?

I have been one of Ryan Atkins biggest supporters and yes for 3/4 of the season he looked back to his best.. But at the business end he has reverted to last years form.
I want to see us play with two centres who can use footwork and create space and also not have a phobia of passing to his winger.. Which Evans has had all season and Atkins has started to develop ..

Not saying he has but note he has not been around the club for a while. And Grix had a testimonial whilst not playing for us so that isn't essential.
Wait and see what happens, I rate him as a player we have missed his bulk in the pack.

If Dodds is staying, you will soon forget Harrison. Don't think people realise how much difference he would have made this year to us. His tackling one on one is awesome and he's pretty handy going forward too. Add him and Cooper in and we wont be far off sorting out the featherweight pack we have worked with all year

Can we honestly depend on the likes of Dodds and / or Harrison though? Two players who have been ravaged by injury on and off for some time now. No room for sentiment or passengers like we went into this season with. Need to hit the ground running with players who are fit and we can depend on.

Dodds injuries to his knees were well documented, however he di finish the NRL season and he GF with Brisbane at the end of 2015. His injury here was a freak break and could have happened to anyone including a player who plays week in week out. He will be fully recovered by now and ready to go for 2017.
That's if he is staying but don't see what choice he has. No nrl team will buy him until he is tested again

Hardly been ravaged by injury down the years though, has he? Been a regular and quite injury free until this serious knee injury if I remember rightly? The likes of Harrison, Dodds and Wheeler are on another level.

| Looking at it in some cold hard terms, the only people I would 100% keep in terms of quality, are Russell, Atkins, Sandow, Hill, Westwood and Westerman.
Evans is an absolute rock and I don't think we'd replace him with anyone nearly as defensively sound. But he offers nothing in attack.
Ratchford has been here 4-5 years now and we still don't have his spot nailed down, I don't see him flourish in any one spot, so while he offers utility, I don't care if he goes.
Penny is a brilliant attack threat and he will finish everything he's given, but he is prone to brainfarts and mistakes which leave me slightly iffy.
Gidley seemed to be great early on but last night proved to me he's not quite got it now. There were a couple times all he had to do was fire out a miss man pass and Lineham was in, he failed to see it.
Sims is a fantastic motivator from what I've seen, and he offers offloads, but he couldn't punch holes in a piece of paper, he runs in and crumples at the slightest touch.
Hughes is like Evans, solid as a rock defensively but offers up ziltch in attack, you can't have a second row that doesn't offer lines.
Lineham's attitude seems to be back but if he lost it so readily here, it could happen again and I don't want a guy who isn't willing 100% of the time.
The rest are all just too young for me to really make a solid evaluation of their impact on future squads. George and Toby are prospects, as is Patton. Wilde needs a lot more steel in him if he's going to make it.
Not sure if I missed anyone of note.

Is Wheeler still here and is so why? I might be one of a few but think that there needs to be a little sentiment in sport the likes of Harrison should be given an opportunity to recover and if his Wire career is over it should be effected with a bit of class and full recognition of the hard yards he's made for us. Looking after people engenders team spirit, you might also be less motivated to run through the proverbial brick wall if you got hurt and carted off to the scrapyard at the first sign of in need of running repairs
Wheeler on the other hand......sorry not our problem and yes it was a gamble and he's being paid in chip butties or whatever

The injury to Dodds legs had nothing to do with previous injuries to his knees or anywhere else. It was an horrific accident that I don't care to see again.
