| Ratchford is brilliant when his individuality comes off but he needs to be more of a team player, he'll run down a blind alley 2-3 times before he lets a ball go.

| Can anyone explain Solomonas first try by the way? The ball is clearly lost and Gidley puts his hand on it. That should make the ball dead? Instead Solomona is allowed to carry on, get it back and ground it... not that it would have affected the outcome. Only saw Hill, Westwood and Ratchford trying to make any headway.

I'm asking for an explanation as to why. Solomina loses the ball. Fact. Gidley puts his hand on the ball after this. Fact. So why wasn't it deemed dead? I'm just asking because any other time it's deemed dead?

I think that is on the money. For 35 minutes we dominated them playing sensible rugby, then decided to showboat instead of taking the ball up and playing in their last Q of the field. Once they got a try they visibly lifted and the damage was done.
Jullien was not great in the tackle and Toby King faded as the game went on, I suppose you have to accept that with their inexperience and return from injury. Gidley was not great, even his kicking was off. I thought Smith brought a bit of energy to the team though. Excellent display by Cas.

Two edits, and you still can't spell "you're". But I'm the thick one.

Your interpretation of the rules is correct, but I don't think your 'facts' are: I don't think Solomona does lose the ball at any point: seen from the side angle, before Gidley puts his hand on the ball, he clearly still has full control of it. Grounding is a bit scruffy, but right call for a try IMO.

| He clearly does lose the ball, starts in his hand and ends up halfway near his hip. He does get back hold of it but I'm really not sure it was regained before Gidley puts his hand on it because there was no frame by frame, I guess having it sent up as a try backs the VR into a corner. I wasn't trying to give out sour grapes, Cas worked extremely hard at the back end of the first half to get back into it. We were woeful in the second fourty though.
