My understanding is no as the foul was committed before the try was scored. To be an eight point try the foul must be committed after the score, as happened last week.

No because he wasn't in the act of scoring the try, no way it could of been anything other than a penalty if the try had not of been scored.

| The ref positively missed 2 or 3 Saints voluntary tackles last night.
There were positively no chants of "Agar out!"
The Wire were positively magnificent in the gesture at taking some pressure off Cunningham.

Fair enough thanks, genuinely wasn't sure.

| I think an 8 point try can also be awarded should a foul be committed before, during or after the touchdown.
The factor must be that the attacker scores the try.
Should he fail to ground the ball then he is awarded the try as a penalty.

You could well be right, the main reason I believe that it's when the foul occurs after the try because of the rarity of the decision. Does the penalty also have to involve foul play, such as Farrell last week, rather than a simple penalty such as tackled in the air for the extra kick to be given?
Of course we are all calling it an eight point try, but the way our goal kicking has been recently we could be awarded another 'eight point try' yet only come away with the four!

| Any reason for that awful Penny kick off?
It was so bad something must have happened that I didn't see on the tv.
Not having a go - overall a very good performance.

Fairly sure if you're defending a kick and the attacker catches it, you can tackle them in the air. Not 100% on that though.

That's true in the NRL at least, not sure about in Super League.

| As a Saints fan I don't get to see Ben Currie every week but he gets better & better every time I see him. Simply outstanding young player who should be 1st choice England 2nd row for me.

| Positives.
We played well. Saints were just sublime a draw should of been the right result in truth.
Some of the kicks were inexcusable. Both matty and Tom had howlers over the high ball. Matty in particular as he is usually Mr reliable. But give luke Walsh credit with his kicking. There were some dreadful bounces matty had that caused certainly 1 try. Maybe 2.
Should we have had a penalty for saints delaying the kick off when we scored the last try and declined the conversation??? I don't know. Maybe because it was a enomaly that we declined the conversion that saints were confused what was going on.
