| Quote: Winslade's Offload "That is exactly right, we desperately need a good prop. The Anthony England experiment is over as far as I am concerned. He was contracted until 2016 back in 2014, so I am hoping that is a 1yr plus 1 yr club option. He is far too slow and for 114 Kg and 6' 5'' seems unable to make full use of his bulk. Pity, but time to draw a line under it. Trouble is, I suspect TS is not looking for one. Even if he was, it took him 2 years to find a HB.'"
I'm hoping that SJM will pull rank and sign us one wether TS wants it or not.
England frustrates the hell out of me W/O for the very reason you point out. He is a plod when on form and tree when not. If he at least would fall forwards when "timberrrrr!" Is called at the tackle, he make more yards than he would with his feet!

I want to see Philbin developed into a prop. I think he's one of few who played well today and he's only 20, will be a decent player imo.

| Huge Joel fan but , I have to admit he's too slow ,whether TS has other plans for him next year we will see but, Lineham is obviously the man for the wing spot

| JP did good as did Sims and Hill.
Very disappointed with TS. He makes howlers and saves them all for the biggest games.
His history makes him untouchable.
Today he took Sims and Hill of far too soon.
It took him until 25 mins from time before he addressed his error and put four props out all at once. At that point we pulled back but the hole TS created was too deep to fill.
If we can single out players I'm singling out TS for his dumb decisions.

| We need 2 good quality front rowers to compete + Hill. Simms talks the talk but ultimately falls short. The other two are not the standard we need. Compare our pack to that in 2011. Sad times.

| I thought the decision to take Sims off was correct and as much due to the two passes his attempted in our own half which gifted posession to the opposition at a time when we should have been maintaining steady pressure.
Someone needs a word in his ear and tell him he isn't a ball-handling prop, or Mark Thomas with long hair and an Aussie accent but a hard-running no-frills second-row/prop, and please stick to it.
However, I'd agree with the concensus. We were several levels below appalling and couldn't give half that lot away let alone sell them.

So glad there's not only me sees this sims can't break a tackle, don't make any in roads into the opposition , hills all on his own people are relying on sandow to perform but he'll need a bit of grunt up front to shine, Leeds forwards last night shown the way making yards and offloads.

and yes, i agree with Monaghan as well.. absolutely no pace whatsoever.. painfully slow. Any other winger would have scored that try in the corner... he just didn't have the legs to get there... He is taking up a quota spot and he is probably one of our top earners as well... thanks for your years of service but if this seasons displays are anything to go by the time is up for him i think.'"
totally agree thats why i cant understand wheeler playing joel to centre penny on the wing.fwiw penny would of flew in that corner

| Hardly fair the criticism of Ashton Sims on this thread, he is quality along with Hill, unfortunately they both have to go off at some point, but I think today I would have given Hill 60 minutes, he is capable. We are carrying too much deadwood in the squad. Asotasi and England are both a waste of a shirt. Wheeler? Why was he brought in for a game like this? Atkins? Seemed to think after his try his work for the afternoon was done and he could watch from the wing. Currie? Another player who went missing when we needed go forward. O'briens distribution was abysmal, I am losing count of how many times he is caught in possession. Joel Monaghan is still a quality finisher and has never relied on pace, I don't see a future for him at centre though so unless he will be on the other wing to Lineham next season then we can get rid. Only a few positives to take from today, Myler was brilliant, particularly in defence. Sam Wilde tackles everything that moves and we all save money on Wembley.
