As someone who follows RU too I'm interested by the Eastmond rumour if there's anything in it. After an acclimatisation process he has just had a fantastic season at Bath, standing out in a team of internationals which probably should have won the title (winning the regular league and beaten in the play-off final by the team which finished fourth...). I think his size may count against him ever being a regular international centre, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is dropped from the English squad at this stage, but if he were to stay in RU I am quite sure he'd get some more caps at some stage and he could earn a fair bit of money, either staying at Bath or playing in France. I do rate him very highly in either code, and if he comes back to RL I'd be delighted to see him at Wire, but I would emphasise that this wouldn't be a player coming back to League with his tail between his legs after failing at RU.

He's a great player and definitely not a failure.

Who cares if someone fails at RU anyway? It's a different game, so if they excel in league, move to union for the money, international honours or whatever then don't succeed and return to league where they then excel again then great.

People talk about the media reaction and in turn wider public opinion, but again, so what?

Eastmond would certainly fix that right edge up, vacated by Bridge no end, and he's just as comfortable on the left side, if not more so. So with Toby King on the cusp, Atkins would struggle for a new deal here come mid term 2017 should Eastmond be signed.

I was speaking to someone who's well connected with the club (well, seems to be), and I've heard

a) Eastmond done deal
b) We're signing a "proven" Aussie half, who will be the marquee signing
c) another prop signing
How we'll be under the cap (the rest of the English SL supporters will have a coronary), I'll never know
d) bye-bye Roy (awww, shucks)
e) bye-bye Atkins (awww, double shucks)

How much of this comes to fruition, we'll see.

Nothing about Ratchford to Wigan? It keeps cropping up. Don't know where it's come from, whether it's just a Wigan "I'd like Ratchford from Wire" "yeah me too" and it's spread from there or whether there's something in it.

Bit my tongue long enough but this board is the worse by far regarding rumours, not a day goes by that we are signing xyz its gone beyond a joke.

The signings we've made already make me think wow, especially Sandow. But those above in addition to the ones we've would be...well, words can't describe how outrageously amazing it would be. You're a man to be trusted LG so I'm getting incredibly excited.
