Think of a bad shape, a wolf that looks like a transformer, a crap colour scheme and a crap font that doesn't even have the word Warrington inside the logo. That's just for starters.

If someone came up with that at the end of a design course, they wouldn't be marked very highly for it.

Haha, it's on the club website now. It is genuinely awful, but at least it says "The Wire" on it. Small steps.

its simplified I'll say that! to be fair Its what a number of sporting clubs have done with various logo's. It does makes sense....

like I said in an earlier post the rhinos badge is the best because its relatively simple. The opposite of that is the Wigan Crest which is not instantly recognisable without the Words Wigan warriors underneath it and also its choc full of detail.

its ok I suppose.... but what are the three zig zag lines and the little love hearts for ....unnecessary for me...it looks a bit unfinished !!!! but I'll get used to it......

Oh my dear god. It's taken me 278 years to get used to having a wolf on the badge, a fluffy grey sheepdog as the mascot and being surrounded by people calling us the wolves as though we're from Birmingham, and now this.

Genuinely awful. In fact it gives awful a bad name. I'm off to the loft to get my old vladivar kit out and pretend this is happening to someone else.

to answer my own question the zig zags = "Wire" obviously!! and the love hearts stand for the 7 clubs that formed the Warrington rugby club..........an underwhelming tribute for me...

I'm not crazy about it, but I don't think it is terrible. The only things that bother me are that there are two different blues and, overall, the logo isn't predominantly primrose and blue. I had thought this was so that it stands out on shirts better, but that has never been an issue before.

EDIT: Just seen that the logo they are using on the official Twitter has blue in place of that steel grey. This is an improvement, and I hope they use that on the shirts, but it still needs more primrose.

Not an easy change for anyone with a tattoo of the previous one. Could have just added the wire to the old one. The wolf doesn't look 'ard enough either

Nobody likes change but the club needed to rebrand if they wanted to do the things that are planned. The badge is more marketable than the old one for sure plus having "The Wire" in the badge says where we are from. It seems lately the club cannot do anything right for a lot of supporters " The old players need to go", when TC brings in some young blood " why is he playing kids?" people were moaning about the pending announcement within minutes of it being posted. The club has had a lot of forums, serves and everything that will happen in the next 5 years starts from today, trust me when I say in 5 years we will have a club, ground and team to be proud of.

They had an impossible job because they could not simply throw away the wolves brand, but they have incorporated / acknowledged peoples requests to include the Wire as it's part of our heritage. I have watched them since the last days of Brian Bevan and I am quite happy with what they have produced. At the very minimum it shows the club are listening and trying to respond to the needs of fans.

There are more important things to worry about, bottom 4 four instance will be a disaster for our gates and image, not to mention getting lucrative sponsorship deals and attracting both new and established players into the club.

I expecting to come on here this morning and see absolute outrage, but it's good to see lots of level-headed points and that most like it.

I like it. When I first saw it I was a bit "oh dear God" but then it grew on me within minutes, the more I look at it the more I understand why they did and I can get definitely get behind it, it'll appear to a wider audience for sure.

P.S. this is why you don't get club badges tattooed!

I quite like it. Much prefer it to the existing which had no connection to the heritage of the club. Personally would of liked a bit more primrose in there, the one thing that stands out for me when you see a stand full of wire fans is how bright and colourful it is based on the club colours - the badge falls down a little there if I'm honest - but as I said I like it and like how it incorporates the history of the town and club.

Given how the club is promoting itself as engaging with its fans, I'm surprised that this wasn't put to some kind of vote, unless that happened at the recent forums some fans were invited to?

Bare in mind, people who are complaining about this, go back to October 96, I bet 99% of people hatedwhen the wolves name was implemented and the triangular badge revealed.

I know I thought it was craps at the time.


're the rhinos logo, that got pilloried like when that was released in 97 as it wasdaft looking and huge.


Twelve months from now, no one will care. It'll grow on you.
